The Shoebox is a sweet cottage surrounded by lilacs and flowers in an older neighborhood in Kalispell. The cottage is very comfortable with a great bathroom and kitchen. The comfy couch and streaming TV along with books and games added to our enjoyment of the space. Gail is a terrific host and provided us with everything we might need. Check in and check out was super easy and the house instructions covered anything you might need to know. We will absolutely rent from Gail again next time we are in Kalispell!

About the host
Hosted by Gail Rieg
Hi I'm your host Gail. I love the Flathead Valley! I am an avid hiker and enjoy doing anything outdoors. This is the fifth home I have personally restored myself and I love how charming it turned out. I enjoy hosting my guests while they find this area as unbelievable as I do. I have 4 years experience as a super host through Airbnb. You can see my reviews here - https://airbnb.com/h/shoebox-small-house-living I look forward to hosting you in this great house.
Why they chose this property
This little house is a historic gem. Built in 1893 to house workers for the railway being built here in the Valley. The tracks are still just a few blocks away however the train doesn't come into town any longer. The original horizontal bead board and wood slat ceiling is still in the front of the house! The cottage is surrounded by lilacs that were planted in the 70's. They are gorgeous when they are in full bloom. Even with all the original charm this little place is completely updated and so much better than any hotel room.
