Cottage #4 was completely renovated for my personal use and never intended as a rental. Well a move to the West Coast changed all that. So…Cottage #4 has everything I love and wanted in a cottage, a big kitchen designed for a cook.. with great appliances, great pots and pans, good knives, big gas stove, Bosch dishwasher, redwood counters, and an old soapstone sink. The bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, large window and skylight. The bathroom is beautiful, but the outdoor shower is all you will use. There is a big screen porch overlooking a private yard and wooded wetlands. There is cable TV (flat screen), and high speed internet. Its a spacious cottage perfect for two people. Just 2 miles to the national seashore beaches and a a short walk to beautiful Fort Hill and views of Nauset Marsh. My past guests have all said how much they feel at home in the cottage...and never want to leave.

This was our 3d stay at this wonderful cottage. Perfect location near Fort Hill, close to all beaches, great kitchen, tasteful decor, cozy and cute! Perfect for 2. We will be back!
Very nice stay and wonderful cabin. Close to many attractions and favorite beaches. Had everything we needed there and it is beautifully decorated. Nice for walking our dog in the area too. We were very pleased with our stay there.
We had a wonderful time at Michael’s cottage. He had everything we needed and we enjoyed being able to bring our golden with us. Would return again for a stay.
Just wrapped up our fifth visit to Michael’s cottage. And yet again, we enjoyed every minute of it. We spent most of our time on the screen porch - can’t imagine spending time anywhere else, honestly, though the rest of the cottage is comfy. New furniture in 2024 is super. Especially the new living room chair.
Kitchen is very well equipped - newer appliances, ample and attractive tableware, better than average pots and pans, generous house supplies.
beautiful cottage, immaculate and wonderful location. Everything you need is there - the best cottage I've ever rented on the cape and I've been going there for decades
This is a wonderful Cape Cod cottage, cozy and roomy at the same time. A perfect spot from which to visit all our Cape Cod favorites. We did the Fort Hill hikes which are gorgeous and a little off the grid, so not too crowded in the busy summer months. We loved the screened in porch for morning coffee and dinner. Beautifully decorated, had everything we needed. Can’t say enough good things!
Secluded, but close to all that is great about the Cape, especially the National Seashore. A few feet from the historic Capt. Penniman house and one of the most scenic easy hikes on the Seashore- Fort Hill Trail. And only minutes from the NSS beaches, including pur favorite- Herring Cove. Plus, so many good restauants, antique stores, local concerts and festivals, and even a drive-in theater! We had a wonderful week full of fun, surf, hiking, and adventure. With a comfortable living room and screened in porch, we also enjoyed hours of relaxation and reading.
Wonderful 3rd stay at Michael’s cottage. Perfect location and fully stocked with everything needed for a relaxing week at the Cape. Thanks Michael for sharing your wonderful space!
This is a great cottage, well equipped, in a great location for visiting the Cape. Michael is a super host, providing very helpful information on the area. He was extremely responsive and helpful. I highly recommend!
We spent a long weekend at the cottage, and it was lovely. We love the proximity to Provincetown, as well as to nice places in Eastham and Orleans. There are wonderful walks to be taken without crossing Rte. 6, too. And the cottage is perfect for us. We had ideal weather for using the screened-in porch this time. We can't wait to return soon.
We love this cozy little cottage! it was our 2nd stay here. We hope to come back for years to come. sweet little kitchen, airy screened porch, all the amenities needed, and authentic and tasteful decorations. The proximity to Fort Hill and the beaches makes this the perfect location. Sunsets at First Encounter beach (just 8 minutes away) We explored the Nauset marsh trail, the White Cedar trail, went to PTown, and the Birdwatcher's store in Orleans. We saw seals at the Chatham Fish Pier and sanderlings at Forest beach. We WILL be back!
This is our second time renting this cottage in the early fall. It is well maintained and charming. The location is close to beaches, and Eastham has a lot to offer. We have stayed in a number of places in this area, and this is our favorite.
Very nice cottage. Spacious for 1-2 people. Nice yard, pretty good privacy. Nice Asian/zen decor. I like to stay here for its proximity to the rail trail. I do a lot of biking. Nice to hike Fort Hill which is right next door. Wonderful proximity to Orleans and all the amenities there. I pick Eastham given the ability to travel to Chatham, Provincetown, and being close to wonderful beaches (Nauset, Coast Guard, Marconi).
Our third? Fourth? Visit at Cottage #4 was as pleasant as ever. NICE new furniture - new chair and living room layout this year - and a new dishwasher. And, as always, the screen porch is awesome. Thanks, Michael, for another great Cape experience.
This is our third stay at Michael's and it was just as wonderful as before - there's even a new couch, comfy reading chair and impressive human-height mermaid as decor! It was our first summer visit so we especially enjoyed using the porch and outdoor shower. We enjoyed the convenient quiet location, beautiful daily walks with our dog up to the Fort Hill marsh, and having everything on hand that we needed. If I could have my own cottage someday, I'd want it to look just like this one.
Had lived in Boston when I bought the cottages. I now live in Seattle and work for a WA State winery. This cottage is my sanctuary, where I go to relax and escape. A lot of love has gone into this cottage.
Why they chose this property
When I bought this property and it included all four cottages. I loved the proximity to Fort Hill and for many years would bring my whole family together.... everyone had a cottage. Moving to West Coast made this all difficult to manage, so sold off two cottages to friends. For many years we had our own compound, was a lot of fun.
