This old property has been well-maintained, was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It provided an excellent base for our planned activities and we would happily stay there again.

A well equipped property with plenty for children and families. Lovely views over farm land - we were fortunate to see the lambs.

Ideal for all our needs
We are 4 friends who go walking together every year. The barn was fantastic and home from home. we had everything we needed.
This property is located part way down a steep single lane farm track lane. Directions to the property were excellent and clear and the owner responded promptly to all my questions before our arrival.
We were able to enjoy lovely views from the property ,and on the whole, the property met our expectations. We would stay here again .
We loved our time staying at Midsummer Barn. The pictures online do not do it justice. It has character and charm. It is spacious and comfortable and well equipped for everything a family needs for time away. There were fresh eggs and cider to welcome us which was a lovely touch. The view is spectacular and the area is very quiet and peaceful. It’s easy access to motorways, but feels miles away. Yvonne was a responsive, gracious host. I just which we’d had more time to just hang out and relax at the house. We would return!

Cosy, well equipped, spacious, perfect family cottage
The cottage was perfect for our family. The facilities are excellent and it's like a home away from home. Particularly impressed with the thought the owners have put into making sure families have all they need I.e stair gate, high Chair and buggy.
Yvonne was extremely helpful and answered all my questions.
The cottage is well located for walks and has a good local pub The Dog Inn. Kindly the owners provided10%off vouchers for
us to use there.
There are lots of toys, puzzles and books for children and wifi available.
The kitchen was well equipped and there were some sauces, tea bags etc, foil, kitchen roll etc which came in handy!
A bottle of home made wine as a gift was welcomed!
We would definatly return when visiting family in the area.
Thank you so much!
We had a pleasant, relaxing weekend break at Summer Barn in beautiful, rural surroundings with stunning views. There was more than enough room in the cottage for 6 adults and the house was very well equipped, especially the kitchen. The barn was cosy and warm, even in the wet and cold autumn weather. We were also very pleased to see all the recycling facilities at the barn including a compost bin for our food waste. To get down to the property you have to go down quite a steep single track lane - this was fine in the morning, however when we arrived in the dark and rain, was a little bit of a surprise and so please be aware that arriving in the light would be recommended if you are a nervous driver. We were particularly impressed by the added extras of fresh eggs and homemade wine and it was lovely to experience some of the local farm produce. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we will look to return again when we are in the area.
Plenty of space, lovely welcome (wine!) and truly home from home. I was the hero for finding it! Used it as a base for a wedding and really wish I'd booked for longer, as we didn't really get to take advantage of the amazing cooker and other facilities on offer. Suitable for couples through to families with children. Amazing views!

Great facilities, very clean and child friendly.
We had a wonderful weekend with 4 adults and 2 young children. There was plenty of space for everyone and we were pleasantly surprised to find all the games and DVDs etc which helped to keep the children entertained. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. The views are stunning and there is plenty for families to do in the surrounding areas. We will definitely be returning! Thank you very much.

Great cottage, enjoyable break.
A good cottage in a good location. We stayed there with our dogs and we all had a good time. Everything we needed was in the cottage which was well equiped and furnished. The access lane is Interesting! Narrow and steep which must be fun in winter. We would go again.

Lovely property in a lovely location. Some background noise due to location outside large town.
Clean, warm, well furnished comfortable and welcoming. Rural location outside large town giving wonderful, elevated views. Dog friendly with good sized, secure, rear garden leading to fields. Obviously very family friendly and well equipped for family with very young children. Well equipped and provisioned kitchen provides most of the essentials (except main groceries, of course). A couple of miles to get papers and groceries you may have forgotten and a couple further for a major shop. Mainly wooden and tiled floors throughout which are practical for children & pets but very much in keeping with a period cottage. Owners live next door and are friendly, helpful & unintrusive. Approach is via a steep single track road serving a handful of other houses and did not prove to be a problem to access or exit. I have no adverse criticisms about this property and would willingly book again. For us it provided an ideal base for visiting friends and relatives around the northwest and a welcome change from our usual couple of nights in a Travel Lodge. The weather during our stay was somewhat inclement (only to be expected in February) but I feel sure that the owners would have arranged something better if that was possible. Recommended!

We are very family-friendly, with plenty of items available, including cots, high chair, stair gates, baby bath. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome.
