We had a great short get away to visit Bennett springs for fishing. This place was a great place to stay if you want to be secluded away from other campers! It’s a bit of a rocky drive but if you don’t mind that it’s a wonderful place to stay
We took 80 people on an adults-only float trip this year and Sweetwater was better than ever. Riverfront does a great job arranging all the float details. The grounds were well-kept and they cut down all the weeds, there was no poison ivy at all this year. We brought permethrin spray to keep down the ambient flies & mosquitos which worked like a charm. Hot water heater in the cabin went out on the third day and they fixed it that same day. Highly recommend this spot and host for any group float!
Fishing, floating, swimming, camping, wildlife. We had 25 people spend the weekend here and there just wasn't enough time.!
Literally, the only complaint is we didn't have enough time. We do this family vacation/float every year at Bennett... This one topped the cake, ladies and gentlemen!!
The river access is second to none. The privacy is ideal for our loud and rowdy crowd. And the amenities suited us very nicely. Put us down for two weeks next year!!
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. Right o n the river & plenty of land to explore & a nice little pond to hang out around. Close to Bennett Springs so we were able to fish in the morning & then go back & eat lunch then head back for some more fishing. The house had everything we needed to cook our meals.
We plan on booking it again in the near future & bringing our families down to enjoy this spacious place & let the kids camp outside.
Was a nice, quiet place and just a short walk to the river. Property itself and the surroundings were great. Owner was very easy to work with. Make sure to grab all of the items you think you would need before arriving. Would recommend to those looking for a property close to the river and in the middle of nowhere. Was a good trip.
Despite the storm, another great group float trip at Sweetwater!
This is the second time we’ve brought a large group to Sweetwater for a float and camping trip. The facilities were even cleaner this time than last, and we really appreciated having the barn and shed to use to keep some things dry. Mother Nature definitely tricked us but management was kind to us given the circumstances. Thanks and we look forward to a storm-free trip next year (fingers crossed!)

Fly Infestation
This was the most miserable experience we have ever had staying anywhere -VRBO or otherwise. This cabin had a fly Infestation that was disgusting! We couldn't relax at all because they were everywhere - landing on us and on our food. There was a dead fly in the shower, dead flies and other insects on dusty windowsills, and a long dead cricket just as we walked in the front door. When I contacted the owner after we returned home, her excuse was that there had been a group of almost 200 people there for two weeks. The why is/was irrelevant to us. The situation was miserable. When we would walk towards the bathroom, flies would scatter. The owner's offered solution is to assure that she will supply a can of fly spray for the next guests. This is an intolerable health issue. If you are going to book a stay here, be prepared to be constantly shooing flies.
We took a group of 50 adults on a float trip Labor Day weekend. This place exceeded all expectations. We saw no one else but out group the whole time, except down by the river. The beach on the property is so nice that float groups tend to hang out on it during the day. It’s private again by about 6pm because the float groups have to make their pullout deadline. The cabin was comfortable and well equipped, and the property will accommodate far more than our 50. This is definitely the spot to take your large group floating!
This site was perfect for our group. We had a reunion for 25 guys and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The site was very spacious and had plenty of room for games and sports with river access within walking distance. We enjoyed the privacy and large gravel bar the most. Overall, we will definitely be visiting again in the future!
For those looking for peace & privacy, this property is very secluded. The gravel road & driveway in can get pretty rough. Once you actually get to the property though, it is a secluded paradise. The river access is a bit of a walk down the path & we had to navigate around big mud puddles but the beach area there was great. We caught a couple of trout right by there & the kids had a fun time floating down with the current in their life jackets. The river did get pretty busy with floaters there on Saturday. The cabin & extra bathrooms were also wonderful. We cooked inside & outside on the grills & fire pit. Overall, we had a great time.. would love to go back with a bigger group next time!
