About this property

Historic Sailmaker's Cottage in Heart of Provincetown, Steps from Beach

Cottage in Heart of East End Gallery District, Provincetown. Steps from the Beach. A Garden Oasis.

Truly rare, 2BR, historic “Sailmaker’s Cottage” with private patio, beautifully landscaped yard, exceptional gardens and one of the best front porches on Commercial Street.

Steps to Siro and Sal’s and The Mews restaurants, and literally steps away to the bayside beach, where you’ll find stunning views of MacMillan Wharf.

Upon entering this two floor cottage, you’ll immediately be charmed by its rustic interior, featuring original wooden beams and recently refinished original pine plank flooring throughout the cottage.

The open kitchen has three south facing windows, a five burner gas range, a drop leaf maple table and hutch, a pantry, dishwasher and a stackable washer/drier. It’s very well equipped, as cooking is a major hobby of the owners.

The contemporary hallway bathroom features a glass enclosed walk in shower and a bidet (Washlet) toilet.

Continue along the hallway to the extraordinary vaulted living room, bathed in light.

This generous space includes French doors leading to your private patio with grill, a Lopi Gas fireplace, a piano and a very comfortable chair/ottoman and (foldout) couch seating.

Next, follow the “Sea Captain’s stairs” off the kitchen to the landing, and head into the light-filled guest bedroom with queen size bed, and private closet and dresser.

Continue across the landing to enter the extraordinary master bedroom loft, which overlooks the living room below.

Enjoy the spaciousness of the vaulted ceiling, the light streaming through two large, automated skylights and the luxury of a top quality mattress and Charles P Rogers king size brass bed.

Great location

Family of four stayed here for 10 days. We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, shared garden and Provincetown. Beach across the street is great for kids. Our communication with Mike and Peter was excellent. They were very helpful throughout our stay. The cottage exceeded our expectations - the two beds were great and we had everything we needed. We can highly recommend this stylish and cozy cottage.

Great Cottage in the Heart of Ptown!

Truly enjoyed staying at Peter and Mike's fantastic cottage in the heart of one of the best areas of Ptown. The cottage is in a great location, right on bustling Commercial Street and yet tucked away in its own quiet garden oasis. The house itself is very high on 18th Century charm and yet has the convenience of modern amenities and high quality furniture and bedding. Peter and Mike are a pleasure to deal with and could not have been more accommodating during my stay. Their place is a great find!

A glorious Oasis, an architectural gem, gold-standard furnishings, only feet away from Commercial St

The Sailmaker’s cottage is a great resting place, to nourish and renew one’s spirit, through the beauty of the home, and the quiet back yard great for sunning, eating, barbecuing, reading. Exceptionally, it is only a stride away from the famous Commercial street with all the chat, movement, trade and fun that happens there. It is an architectural gem, as the photos display, the furnishings are beautiful and comfortable, the kitchen is super for cooking in. The cottage surpassed all my expectations and the owners are true gentlemen - ready to help or answer questions with whatever you need. Thank you Peter and Mike!

Historic PTown Perfection

Peter and Mike’s historic sailmaker’s cottage couldn’t have been better. Exactly the right distance from the hustle and bustle of town center in the quite rear of a stately captain’s house, this place is a perfect PTown retreat. Peter and Mike’s place feels like home with meticulous attention to detail. The cottage is very comfortable with plenty of nooks to spread out - perfect for a couple or a small family. Best of of all is the quick and easy access to the water for swimming in the harbor or to spend a few hours on the town beach.

About the host

Hosted by Peter Logue & Mike Hazell

Host profile image
My husband Mike and I, Peter, love our place in Provincetown!

While there, we love to cook, bicycle, listen to music, walk across the street the beach and eat out, on occasion.

But our favorite thing to do is to spend time with our Portuguese Water Dog.

For those who may be interested, Portuguese Water Dogs are both non-shedding and hypoallergenic.

Why they chose this property

The most unique aspect of this property is that although you are literally in the heart of Provincetown - steps away from the very best restaurants, galleries and (our bias!) beach in Provincetown - you can be away from all of that once you enter our quiet "backyard oasis", with its beautiful gardens and landscaping.

What makes this property unique

Other unique benefits worth mentioning are that we have probably the best porch that overlooks Commercial Street in all of the East End, and that you're fully entitled to make use of it!
