About this property

Lake Cabin with Breathtaking Lake View & Private Dock. Hot Tub.Pool Table. Wi-Fi

This Large 1400 sq. ft. log home located in Gated Deerwater Lake within Cliffview Resort is perfect for people wanting to get away in a lakefront location and have access to fishing, canoeing /kayaking, and swimming on a private dock! The lake is a great place to fish for Bass and Catfish. The view from this cabin is spectacular! You are also welcome to bring your own kayak or canoe.

This cabin has 3 BR and 3 baths, fiber optic Wi-Fi, outdoor hot tub, gas grill, slate pool table and campfire pit. It has central heat/ac, stone gas fireplace, satellite TV (in both the living room and master bedroom), plush couch and lounge chair seating, and a kitchen fully equipped with granite counters, a dishwasher, large refrigerator, enormous center island with bar stool seating, and ceiling fans.

The master bedroom has a king bed and a private Full Bath with tile shower. The second bedroom has a fun queen bunk bed and a private Full Bath with tile shower. The 3rd bedroom has one queen bed with a private Flat screen TV with satellite TV. It accesses the 3rd full bathroom with tub/shower combo and is a Jack-n-Jill bathroom shared with the main living area.

Feel free to hike around the lake, although the view is so spectacular from the deck you may not want to leave it. It is a beautiful spot in the winter as the lake remains a clear blue-green color year round.

Access is easy paved roads to a length of gravel road ending at two gravel driveways: one with a short tricky hill to flat gravel on one side of the house, and a longer less steep one on the other. Easily accessed by 2wd vehicles. A ramp to the deck is provided at the end of the longer gravel driveway for those seeking to avoid stairs. A full staircase greets the other driveway, both meeting at the large wrap around deck which is fully contained by railings and locking gates at the stairs and ramp for groups with small, curious children.

Located close to other Cabins in the Scenic Cabin Rentals Family including: Bake's Burrow, Wuthering Heights Kentucky Straight Wilderness and Clifftop Haven. Forestdale offers opportunities for large group reunions.

Great location

Cabin was very well kept. It was clean and neat when we arrived. The lake is good for fishing. Only thing is it’s a little far from some of the major sites we enjoy. Other than that amazing cabin and a great price as well.

Wonderful

This cabin is beautiful with tasteful decoration, plenty of space, and anything you may need for cooking in the kitchen. Our family loved our stay and have no negative comments about this location. We WILL be booking again and will hopefully bring family to stay in the surrounding cabins

Quiet and convenient

Overall the property was a great getaway. The area around the lake is relaxing. The dishwasher needs fixed, it appeared to be moldy and not cleaning the dishes. We enjoyed the pool table but it also seems like it's falling a part.

A great cabin, with some room for improvements

I stayed here with several friends this past weekend, and most aspects of the cabin were wonderful. The great: the kitchen was spacious and well-stocked, and the bedrooms were perfect for our needs, with a private bathroom next to each. The location was peaceful, and we enjoyed using the hot tub and sitting out by the lake. The room for improvements: the deck isn’t in the best shape, as it could use a fresh coat of paint and/or mildew removal—it’s slippery in spots. As others have noted, one driveway is extremely steep, so much so that we avoided using it (even with my 4WD Subaru). I also expected to be able to use the boats on the dock, as described in the listing, but we couldn’t find any paddles. Finally, we had an experience that hopefully no other guests would share: the bedroom smoke detectors started blaring just before 2 a.m. on our second night, while everyone was sleeping. It took a little while to figure out how to silence them, and it disrupted an otherwise relaxing weekend.

Hiking vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Forestdale. The cabin was very clean and was as pictured on the site. It is located in a gated community, so the area was very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed the lake view and walking around the lake. There were 6 adults in our group and their was plenty of room for all of us. Several of us enjoyed the hot tub after an all day hike. The only con's I can think of is there is no place to hang clothing in the bedrooms, only a couple of hooks. There is no closet space. We could have used another chair in the living room, but we managed with what was there. They ask that you bring your own bath towels if traveling by car, which was no big deal but have never been asked to do that at other properties. We would stay here again with no hesitation!

Wonderful spring trip

Our family had a wonderful time staying at your propert. We felt nestled away in trees with a beautiful lake view as we soaked in the hot tub after a strenuous hike. The kids loved kayaking and fishing in the lake and the adults enjoyed the beautiful deck and listening to the spring peepers and birds. Close and convenient to everything. We hiked auxier ridge, rock bridge loop and ate at Miguel’s pizza, all of which are close to the cabin. We will definitely be back and I would recommend this home to others.

Great lakeside cabin!

We were a group of 7 up for a weekend for a friend's birthday and loved the cabin. It's spacious enough for all of us and the location was great. We loved the hot tub, large kitchen, and the firepit. Two notes for future renters - you can't really tell from the pictures, but the bunk beds are full beds and can sleep two in each (we were originally worried they were regular twin size in case anyone else is)! And the listing does call it out, but the driveway is STEEP. There's one in the front that can fit one or two cars, and a slightly less steep drive in the back that levels out to fit more cars. They're both also gravel. Not a huge issue, but if you have a smaller car or don't have four wheel drive, it can be tough. Overall would definitely stay here again!

Beyond amazing and very revitalizing

The Forest Dale property was absolutely stellar in appearance. My now fiancée and I had a fantastic and restorative weekend! Yep, totally proposed to the love of my life here. It's that nice! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The lake view and the recessed forest location make for an incredibly relaxing, quiet, and therapeutic getaway. The rooms are large with plenty of bathrooms if you have a group of people coming to stay. The common area was very inviting and stocked with all of the bowls, plates, and utensils you could need. Wi-Fi services were consistent, the couches were comfortable, and the beds were exceptionally cozy. The only negative feedback I could leave is that the gravel driveway has a steep incline. It could be tough to drive up, depending on your vehicle. Other than that, I 10/10 would recommend coming here. An amazingly restful and rejuvenating location.

Family Get Away

We had an awesome family get away and this cabin was perfect for the 4 of us. Location was great, steep driveway, I suggest using the driveway on the back side of the house. We went on a hike to the natural bridge, went fishing in the lake our property sat on and had a bon fire, w/roasted marshmallows. Our girls had a great time and loved the bunk bed as they got to share the room and have a sister sleep over. Highly recommend for a family of 4-8. There was plenty of room with just us 4 but could make it work for a bigger family. Thank you for a great place and stay we had a blast!!!

Excellent 2 Family Getaway

If you are looking for an excellent getaway for 1-2 smaller families this cabin is ideal. The cabin actually has 3 separate bedroom and bathrooms which is great for those times when people need their own little bit of space. The common area with the kitchen is wonderful with a large open concept and has a walkout patio. A lot of time can be spent in this space enjoying various activities and socializing. The hot tub is great for 3-4 people and was in excellent condition. Water access is just down the steps with it's own dock. There are some stumps in the area where this cabin is but those didn't propose any issues as they were visible. It is a bit of a trip from check-in to the cabin so I recommend that you make sure you have absolutely everything you want and need as a trip for something as small as milk or sugar is a bit of a process. It was a very good feeling that the pictures in the listing were very accurate to what we actually walked in to. I know sometimes pictures can be very misleading to what you are getting but not in this case. We had an excellent time and would definitely stay in this cabin and area again. Thank You!

Great cabin, great location

Our family of 8 enjoyed a little getaway at this wonderful cabin with easy access to the water. The older kids could go down and fish by themselves (we could see them from the kitchen window) while the little ones took naps, or while we were preparing meals. We brought our own lifejackets, and had to scrounge for a paddle to use the canoe that is at the dock, but we found one. We stayed for 2 nights, but would stay longer next time. The location was great. Private and peaceful. We hope to return!

Beautiful Getaway

Going to this property was a surprise for my fiance after I proposed. The pictures of this cabin do not do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a quiet romantic getaway. She loved it and so did I!
