About 15 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Porto Covo, this accommodation in Monte Alentejano, restored maintaining the original design, allows you to enjoy the countryside and the beach simultaneously. Situated on the border between the municipalities of Sines and Santiago do Cacém you have at your disposal the cultural offer of both - castles, churches, museums and Roman ruins of Miróbriga.
And yet, if you like to walk, enjoy from September to June to tour the newly opened pedestrian route - Rota Vicentina. Salgueiro Courela is the accommodation unit closest to the end of the 1st stage: Santiago de Cacém - Dry Valley ..

Warm Country House in Alentejo
Two of us stayed at Maria’s Courela do Salgueiro for a week and a half. We loved our time there: - The house is a perfect base for exploring the Alentejo region. It provides easy day trip access (by car) to places such as Porto Covo, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Sines, Melides…. It is close to Santiago do Cacém for grocery shopping and eating. And is within 15 minute’s walk to the Rota Vincentina, which is a beautiful walking trail. - Maria is a welcoming hostess. And when we asked for more firewood, she was very responsive and dropped it off the very next day. - The house is warmly decorated with local flair: crafts and cork bowls. It was immaculately clean and welcoming for our arrival. There is a nice covered patio on the side of the house where we often relaxed, ate our meals, and watched the swallows building their nest. The swimming pool is clean and inviting, and would be refreshing in the summer. (We visited in late February.)

Casa com boas áreas e zona da piscina/relva muito agradável e conforme as fotos do site. A proprietária foi prestável e atenciosa. Algumas falhas que poderão melhorar: Praticamente sem iluminação no exterior da casa, em 7 candeeiros apenas dois tinham luz. Água dos banhos fria em alguns dias. Maior atenção à limpeza da casa, como por exemplo, por baixo de móveis e camas.

Uma semana bastante agradável.
Tivemos uma excelente semana de férias na Courela do Salgueiro. A comunicação com D. Mª Joaquina foi excelente e estava sempre disponível para todas as questões. Casa com excelentes áreas, comodidades que satisfaziam na perfeição as nossas necessidades e um sitio isolado que nos permitiu ouvir o chilrear dos pássaros e ver as estrelas durante a noite. Gostámos bastante e recomendamos vivamente.

Casa e espaço exterior muito agradável, ideal para descansar. Suficientemente afastada de casas e estrada para ter privacidade e não se ouvir ruídos. A piscina é muito boa.

Better than the photos
It is a wonderful private house, quite a distance from the nearest neighbours. The outside space is even better than the photographs show. Garden is greener and the pool bigger than I was expecting. Welcomed with the basics bread , milk coffee etc so no need to rush out as soon as you arrive. simple and very clean in the house, perfect for 6 adults staying. Only thing missing for a British group was a kettle, might well of been one but we didn't find it. Fresh white linen on the beds and towels on arrival. Greeted on arrival and responded to our enquires on the phone really promptly even when we managed to lock ourselves out one evening! Really relaxed and enjoyable setting for our holiday.

Perfektes Ferienhaus in schöner ruhiger Lage mit viel Platz
Der Außenbereich mit der Terasse und BBQ Ecke und der Pool sind wunderbar. Die Lage ist sehr schön ruhig. Alles perfekt :)
