We spent a few nights here while hiking and climbing in the Needles. The cabin was fabulous - had everything we needed and more and was ideally situated to explore the area.
This is a country home on top of a mountain. When we arrived, the AC wasn't functional and the house was 90+ degrees. So, we opened up windows and doors, turned on the fans, and by evening it was a livable temp and remained comfortable without the AC throughout. Surrounded by trees and bushes, there is a feeling of privacy even though neighbors are not far off. We were visited by humming birds, jays, a family of partridges I think, deer, and a hungry calico cat who invited herself for meals for which she seemed quite greatful. The breezes kept us comfortable and the night stars kept us mesmerized. Surrounded by these things, it was a step back from technology and away from our cares for a couple days, remembering the way we once happily lived.
A wonderful time.
Nice place. Beautiful area and there were deers everywhere, which was nice. House was as describe. Fridge need to get colder. Communication was great, very quick. I would recommend this place to anyone and we hope to come back.
It was unbearably hot and the cabin doesn't have air conditioning, nor does it have curtains on all the windows. Perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad if there was a way to block the sun from beating through the windows, but the curtains on the lower windows are ill-sized - not as wide as the windows, so there were large gaps - and there are no curtains or shades or outside awning option for the upper glass windows at all. Being so hot, we were all disappointed that while the fridge works, it only gets cold enough to keep food chilled but doesn't get cold and the freezer's ice maker doesn't work. Walking around barefoot made me wonder when the last time the floors were mopped because the bottom of our feet were black after finishing breakfast - I was quite shocked at that. But, the owner was responsive via vrbo messaging with our emergency of the cabin not having any running water until our second day. Overall, it wasn't ideal for us, but we're thinking of trying it again - just not in the middle of July!
The cabin is a cozy and nice little place to stay. Lots of wild life visits. Great location. Quiet neighborhood. It does get a little warm in the summer.
We have stayed in 5 or 6 different rental properties in the Camp Nelson/Sequoia area over the years, and this was by far the most comfortable. It's more a mountain home than a cabin, with beautiful windows, a fun workable kitchen, and everything we needed to make a great family vacation. The pictures don't do it justice. We saw 30+ deer, had lovely "bird theater" with the hummingbirds and a slew of other bird varieties. The beds were comfortable and we spent most of our time on the deck nestled under an epic tree. I can't recommend it enough.
Amazing wildlife activity!! SO MANY DEER!!!
Clean cabin, many personal touches. Enjoyed our weekend. Would rent again for sure...
Cell Service unavailable at this location. Wi-Fi calling available.
Loved watching the hummingbird drama from the deck!
Wonderful cabin, great location, peaceful! Half-full coffee mug on the rack from the previous renter was a tad off-putting, but I got over it! Just glad I checked before pouring my morning coffee!!! Yikes!
