Wake to the call of osprey and sip your morning brew as the sun rises over the creek. The dock is a great place to try chicken-necking catch for crabs or watch pelicans plop before you explore the creek on one of two kayaks.
With 4 spacious bedrooms, you can bring the entire family and friends too. Please do not try to bring more guests than we've agreed to; if you do, I'll have to charge you. While here, you can enjoy meals and relax on the huge screened porch overlooking the spectacular water. Read books from our stocked shelves, play board games or cards, put together puzzles. Or write that story you've been putting off. Have fun!
When you arrive the homeowners will make their way down to greet you and ensure you have everything you need for your stay.
Please be careful climbing the steps to the second floor as they are steep.
Please supervise all children while in and around the home. The home provides a huge yard and water access. We recommend life jackets and water shoes for all guests as the creek abounds in oyster shells.
Upon checkout, please leave the house open and the key on the table. Leave beds unmade, but don't remove the linens. Please place all used towels on the bathroom floors or in the hamper, but not on the hardwood floors. And please start the dishwasher. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
We hope you enjoy your stay.

Simply beautiful!!! We really enjoyed the awesome view, especially while having breakfast on the screen porch. This quiet location is just a wonderful getaway.
We loved this home, it was a perfect fit for our large family. It was nice having 3 bathrooms and an outdoor shower too. Home owners were extremely nice! View was wonderful!
This was such a wonderful place to meet with my family. There was plenty of space- inside and out.
The house is charming and had everything we needed. The location- off the beaten path, gave us privacy and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Owners are wonderful, and if you just want a quiet spot to read, there are plenty of those as well as reading material galore!
I highly recommend!
We had such a wonderful time. The house has such beautiful views, all throughout, upstairs and down. A truly peaceful location. We really enjoyed the screen porch where we had all of our meals. With short trips to the Cape, and Wade shore, this property is definitely worth visiting again. The property owners were wonderful as well.
Thank you so much for sharing this little piece of Heaven
We had an awesome stay here for a week being by the water was an awesome view to wake up to and beautiful to watch in the evening. Different screened in porch was our favorite place we spent a lot of time there and ate all of our meals there. This house is conveniently located and is about 15 to 20 minutes away from everything. We enjoyed fishing off the dock every morning noon and night as well as my girls enjoyed it too
Most rental vacation places we've stayed have been sterile and stripped of any real personal touches. This hostess is an author, and books, puzzles and games abound in this house. Fun things like kayaks, fishing gear and binoculars, were available. And considerations, like coffee and laundry detergent, were provided. We had a wonderful vacation and would like to come again!
Normandie and Michael went out of there way to accommodate an 81 year old we had with us that is disabled and had a special need. They are so pleasant and easy to talk to. We throughly enjoyed our stay. It was the most relaxing and peaceful vacation we have ever had. Our 12 year old daughter caught a skate fish and was quite excited over that and had a lot of fun looking for shells and lizards.
This past week was one of the best vacations my family has every taken. The owners of this property are the nicest people. They provide more than you could ever ask for with this property. The use of kayaks, a grill complete with a bag of charcoal, crab traps, and so much more. We all loved crabbing and fishing off of the dock. The property is located so close to so many attractions. We can't wait to come back.
Thank you Normandie and Michael for letting us stay at your amazing cottage.
Our family visited for a long weekend and had a wonderful time! The house was clean and very well kept with all the things we needed. The private location on the creek is outstanding. Normandie was a great host and available to answer any questions we had.
Our boys loved fishing and cast netting from the awesome dock and caught lots of different types of fish. The coastal views across the creek and the quiet location were highlights. We ferried from Harker’s Island to Cape Lookout for a fun beach day. We also drove to Beaufort for lunch and Fort Macon beach access for another great day where my daughter loved seeing dolphins.
Overall, we loved the house and the activities there and nearby and would love to visit again!
This is a wonderful property. Charming cottage with three levels. The entire third level is a newer renovation. Very spacious. Main bedroom downstairs floods with light in the morning. The view outside is beautiful! Private setting but the owner lives right next door so any needs that arise are taken care of quickly. Nice pier for fishing and you should definitely make use of the two kayaks for paddling around the cove. The large screened-in porch is great for relaxing and enjoying time go by at a much slower pace.
We really enjoyed our stay! The location is beautiful, with access to the water right at the dock! All amenities were there, and the agent was very attentive. We had a 21' Southern Skimmer that had no problem leaving the dock! We hope to schedule another vacation here!
Property was very clean and plenty of room for the 7 of us. The kids and guys loved fishing off the dock and watching all the different birds flying around. Normandie was very helpful and interesting to talk to! We would love to come back to this same place again!
We had an amazing stay.
The house, property and view were wonderful. The property owner was very close and helpful.
We were close enough to food, the beach and other activities.
We would gladly stay again.
Wonderful getaway! The home was great for us...two families that consisted of 4 adults and six kids. Plenty of room for gathering together and still able to have personal space. The dock was amazing. Fishing for croaker with the added bonus of catching two small sharks and a ray!
Definitely a place to make wonderful family memories ❤️

About the host
Hosted by Normandie and Michael
The owner's grandparents purchased the property on Sleepy Creek back in the 40s, and the family has enjoyed vacationing here ever since. The house was enlarged around 1996 as kids and grandkids came for summers of sailing the sound or boating to Cape Lookout.
They live in another house on the property and will be available if you need help or wish to use the kayaks.
Why they chose this property
Family and guests alike come to soak up the peace of being on the creek. With spectacular sunrises and sunsets, shore birds and the occasional dolphin or two, it's a perfect place to regroup and relax. More than one vacationer has said they never wanted to leave...
What makes this property unique
Beauty, the water, a fun place to stay? What more could you want? Quiet and secluded for those who just want to get away. Close enough to everything if you wish to explore or hit our beautiful beaches.
