The Double D Rach has been a labor of love, built in 1953 & completely renovated & carefully designed in 2020 - We love to see folks from around the world calling this house "home," even if only for a few nights.
This 5 bedroom 3 bath home is perfect for your vacation needs; no matter the season, with large living spaces, screened in porch, and a massive yard. Just minutes from downtown New Buffalo & easy access to all that Harbor Country has to offer. This will be your home away from home.
The Space:
This fully renovated home sleeps 10 and has more than enough space for all of your guests! Through the front porch you enter into the spacious open concept main level living room with fireplace, dining room with large farmhouse style dining table, and a beautifully updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances! A screened in porch off the dining room is a perfect place to relax outdoors. Just steps off of the screened in porch is an uncovered patio that has a Weber charcoal BBQ for guests to use and a fire pit in the back yard. The primary bedroom features a king size bed. Second bedroom features a full sized bed. Bedrooms three, four, and five all feature two twin beds (bedroom four & five are located in the basement). Three full baths to accommodate all of your guests! The rear screened porch is perfect for outdoor entertaining, as well large yard with fire pit!

The entire home, outdoor porches and yard is yours to enjoy! Large driveway to accommodate all of your guests cars.

We will provide a detailed neighborhood guide for every guest, filled with local tips, neighborhood hot spots, & must visit attractions!
The surrounding landscape is miles of cute cottages, farms, and vineyards. Wineries, breweries, and fresh produce stands are a bike ride away. The public beach on Townline Rd is less than 1 mile away. Perfect for an adventure, and perhaps even better for retreat, Double D Ranch’s light filled, comfortable and collected space is a truly uncommon base for your getaway.
Getting Around:
Getting here is easy. Being here is transformative. We’re all for planning the perfect weekender, but sometimes a spontaneous getaway is just what the proverbial doctor ordered. At less than 70 miles from downtown Chicago, New Buffalo is the perfect city break. Come see what’s on the other side of the lake.
Easy access to I-94 and just east of Red Arrow Highway, which is the main road through the Harbor Country towns. Lake Michigan is a pleasant 15-25 minute walk straight down Union Pier Rd; several public beaches are a short drive away. House is located just a 5 minute walk to "Downtown" Union Pier shops. There are numerous options for hiking very close by, and a public access site for kayaks and canoes on the Galien River is nearby. Besides nature, the area has a great selection of excellent restaurants, breweries, shops, casinos, and numerous local wineries.
Free parking on the premises (4 spot), parking on the street is not permitted by the township.
Having a car is recommended Uber/Lyft are available as ride share options, but plan ahead for scheduling as they can take some time to arrive dependent on season.
There is an Amtrak Station in New Buffalo, about 4 miles away, which offers service to Chicago, as well as Ann Arbor and Detroit.
Other Things to Note:
Bookings between June and September must be weekly bookings with check in and check out dates only on Fridays.
I.E. summer bookings must be for a durations of either 7, 14, 21, etc. nights.
