About this property

La Boulangerie - A beautifully appointed private Gite overlooking The Dordogne.

La Boulangerie is a newly restored old stone bakery situated on the edge of the 12th Century Hamlet of La Boissiere that sits high up on the north side of The Dordogne valley five minutes from Siorac-en-Perigord and Saint-Cyprien and right in the heart of the Dordogne. Offering complete privacy La Boulangerie is an ideal escape for a couple wishing to explore the region and stay in complete luxury and comfort. Inside, the cottage is full of character and French charm with oak beams and a wonderful wood burning stove. Downstairs consists of an open plan kitchen/sitting room with satellite TV, CD player and a wonderful array of CD's and books. The fully fitted kitchen is brand new and has a washing machine. Upstairs in the oak beamed bedroom is the most comfortable super king sized bed in the world! With plenty of storage space and a separate shower/wc the accommodation is superb. Outside the gite has its own private balcony and garden both of which offer dramatic views over the valley.

La Boissiere was once a fortified medieval village but is now a tranquil hamlet perched high up on a hillside in the Valley of the Chateaux overlooking the Dordogne River.

Our service, we believe is second to none and we pride ourselves in the little things that we offer to make your stay more enjoyable. From a pre arrival shop to first night dinner and first morning breakfast we are happy to book restaurants and assist in arranging many of the activities that surround us.

The cottage is completely independent and has its own private gardens. The cottage is also close to our fenced and alarmed 16m x 6m swimming pool that has an additional shallow pool for children.

The general style indoors is attractively unpretentious with plenty of crisp white, splashes of colour, stone-flagged floors, pretty curtains. Modern and dark wood furniture; simple, beamed attic bedrooms and romantic ones for the grown-ups. Kitchens, bath and shower rooms are cleverly conceived and freshly-tiled. There are bikes and rackets, logs for the wood-burners; catering and shopping can be laid on.

The Gite is within easy reach of many of the historic Bastide towns of The Dordogne and Perigord region (such as Monpazier, Domme and Belves) local shops, restaurants and a myriad of activities. We are also within 50 minutes drive of Bergerac and Brive Airports, an easy drive from Bordeaux and Toulouse airports and 8 hours drive from Calais.
