It was the perfect getaway and just what our family needed. We wanted to get a feel for the lake life so we could find a place of our own one day in the near future. There was plenty of space and cozy accommodations for our family of four. We loved taking the pontoon out for the day and catching big panfish off the pier. Our boys absolutely loved the place as did we!
I can say this is the best stay we have had in our VRBO experiences thus far. By far the best Pontoon rental. We do not need much when it comes to amenities. I am a big guy and the only thing I can say is if you are too, sleep on the bottom bed of the bunk beds. But for a fishing trip…Trump lake provided. Goal was to get a big fish for the 10 yr old nephew and he got it a 30” pike and surprising I landed a healthy 36” Musky. Roger the host even reached out mid stay to check on us and was accommodating with everything. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It is an older cabin o if you're looking for luxury accommodations this is not for you. If want a roof and everything you need for a comfortable, quant stay then I highly recommend!
Just what we were looking for in a long weekend getaway! My wife and I and our three children (6,5,1) enjoyed swimming, fishing, kayaking, and boating at the cabin. Our kids caught plenty of fish right off the dock. We had campfires each night and used the Blackstone grill to make dinners. The cabin was perfectly sized, one of the bedrooms had bunkbeds for our girls and we were able to set up our son's pack and play in the 3rd bedroom. We had great weather and used the pontoon two of the days which I would highly recommend. The lake is small but very clean and beautiful, the kids loved seeing the turtles, wood ducks, and loons. Thank you Doug for letting us stay at your cabin, hope we can visit again in the future!
No towels or wash clothes were provided. Previous properties we rented provided those amenities. The main bedroom had clothes hanging up, boxes around and toys out. It made it feel that someone else was staying there and made it very uncomfortable. Aside from that, the rooms were lovely and it was a very nice place to stay.
What we liked: cottage was on the lake, a pontoon boat could be rented, trees surrounded the cottage, wildlife on the lake was awesome (We saw 3 loons, a bald eagle and a blue heron)
What we didn’t like: exterior of cottage had mildew on the siding, rotting wood around the windows, porch windows couldn’t be opened because they were chalked shut, furniture was very old and not comfortable, grills outside were dirty, refrigerator and freezer had the owner’s food in them, one of the bedrooms had such an odd smell we couldn’t sleep in it, dressers couldn’t be used because the owner’s clothes were in them, one window air conditioner for the entire cottage that was held in place by a piece of form board.
Thank you for sharing your cottage with us. We had a wonderful long weekend with our kids and grandkids. This cottage was very clean, hot water was great, had a lot of fun on the lake and in the cottage. This property had everything we needed to have a great long weekend. Thank you again.
The cabin was beautiful and lake was perfect my youngest and I really enjoyed the boat and both kids couldn't belive how many fish were right next to the dock. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fishing or water sports getaway
We were looking for a nice get away spot and found it. The cabin was accurately described, had everything we needed. Host was excellent in replying throughout process. Lake was amazing!
The so called “beach” has a good foot of black muck you have to go through to get to the water. Then there’s about 10 feet of water before you get to thick lily pads. It’s not a beach for swimming. The coffee maker is just a Keurig and not a coffee pot so plan ahead. The freezer was full of their own personal food which only left enough room for us to put a bag of chicken in the freezer. We never were able to connect to the WIFI. He told us the password was on the router but it must have been changed because we tried multiple times on various devices and it didn’t work. He never responded to my second request for the password so we weren’t able to use it. The cabin was nice, there were just things that were a disappointment considering the money I paid for 3 nights.
