About this property
THE WAIN HOUSE, pet friendly, character holiday cottage in Westhope
Able to sleep up to six people across two double rooms - one of which is en suite - and one twin, this great property is close to the amenities of Westhorpe and Church Stretton.
Situated in a lovely courtyard setting on the owner's 250-acre farm, this property is one of four quality, brick-built barn conversions. Formerly part of a 19th Century stable block, this lovely little cottage has been sympathetically renovated and furnished to a high standard. Boasting exposed beams and trusses throughout, the property successfully blends period features with modern convenience. This cottage also comes with use of a lovely patio garden with country views, ideal for al fresco dining.
Amenities: Oil central heating. Double electric oven, electric hob, microwave, cafetiere, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, 43" Smart TV with freesat and Amazon Alexa, WiFi. Shared games room with pool table, table football, table tennis, selection of books. Gym with TV and cross trainer, rowing machine, multi-gym and weights. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot, highchair and stairgate on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Enclosed, gravelled patio garden with garden furniture, charcoal BBQ (charcoal not included). Private hot tub. Two well-behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shared bike storage. Shop 6 miles, pub 4.8 miles. Note: There is restricted head height in part of this property due to a low beam crossing one side of the first floor landing. Note: For any guests who wish to use the hot tub, the owner requires a disclaimer to be signed before use. This will be emailed to you by the owner once you have booked. Note: This property has a good housekeeping bond of £250
Region: A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
Town: Standing amidst rolling farmland in the scenic Hope Valley, the scattered village of Westhope is situated at the southern foot of the famous Wenlock Edge. The area is packed with lovely walks, rambling routes and cycle trails down local paths and bridleways. Many of Shropshire's main attractions are within easy driving distance such as Church Stretton - known as 'Little Switzerland' to the locals - which offers a selection of antique shops and tea rooms and is surrounded by the beautiful Long Mynd Hills. The Acton Scott Historic Working Farm and the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre are also worth visiting, as is the Ironbridge World Heritage Site and the medieval towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow - the latter of which boasts four Michelin starred restaurants. With so much to do in the local area, everyone is sure to find something they enjoy.
