1 The Old Methodist Chapel is a fantastic conversion of a Victorian chapel in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. Over four floor, this property sleeps eight in four bedrooms, a second floor double, 2 x second floor twin and a third floor double. There is also a second floor bathroom, a ground floor shower room, a first floor kitchen with dining area and a first floor sitting room with open fire. Outside there is a patio area, and off road parking for two cars. 1 The Old Methodist Chapel is a unique base for a cottage holiday.

The village is home to the remains of a 12th Century Cistercian Priory - a stone pillar, staircase and sundial are all that remain, which gave the town its unusual name. The village is now largely made up of stone-built cottages clustered around the village green. Packed with local amenities such as shops, tearooms, an art gallery, a glass studio and three old country pubs, there is plenty to do without venturing to nearby Hutton-le-Hole, Ryedale and Kirkbymoorside.
