Bakers Cottage is an end-terrace cottage situated in the village of Kirkby Thore, five miles from the town of Appleby-in-Westmorland. This cottage sleeps three people in two bedrooms, consisting of one double and one single, along with a compact shower room. The cottage also has a kitchen and a sitting room with dining area and woodburning stove. Outside there's an enclosed patio with furniture and roadside parking in a side street next to the cottage. Bakers Cottage is a great base for exploring Cumbria and the Lake District National Park. One well behaved dog welcome.

Amenities: Oil central heating with woodburning stove. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, TV with Freeview, DVD, iPod dock, WiFi. Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair on request. Roadside parking in front of cottage, or side street next to cottage. Enclosed patio with furniture and BBQ. One well-behaved dog welcome, to be kept downstairs only. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 5 mins walk. Note: The stairs at this cottage are a little steep, may be unsuitable for guests with walking difficulties. Note: Limited space between the sides of the double bed. Note: Compact shower room in cottage.

Town: Kirkby Thore is a small Cumbrian village situated within easy driving distance of both Appleby-in-Westmorland and Penrith. The village sits on the site of a Roman cavalry camp, and today offers a church, a shop with Post Office, a pub and a petrol station. The historic town of Appleby-in-Westmorland is a major stop on the Settle-Carlisle Railway and every June the town plays host to a three hundred-year old Horse Fair. Also within reach is the bustling market town of Penrith, which has a number of specialist shops, sandstone buildings, pubs and restaurants, plus Ullswater and the Lake District National Park are nearby.
