Family vacation

The property was great! We had 10 family members staying in the home. The location is perfect and puts all of Charleston within walking distance. We had never stayed in an historical home and found it very charming. The host was extremely easy to work with and very responsive to any issues or questions.

Location and charm!

The location of this property is outstanding and can’t be beat. In the heart of downtown and easily walkable everywhere! The history and charm of the house are so unique and we loved it. Well appointed with everything you need. Communication with owners was always speedy and easy. Our family would definitely stay here again.

Great location

Set up of the house is a little wonky (if you stay with a large party, it’s actually two different units) but the location is excellent and everything was as expected. Would recommend!

Incredible location, great 1841 home. Can’t say anything negative about the home, checkin process, or responsiveness of rental team.

Location, Location, Location

Great location off King street. Lots of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shopping - ALL within walking distance. NEVER got in the car after arriving. The home had lots of character but was getting tired. Our only issue was the dishwasher - but we eat out ALOT. It didn't work on arrival nor repaired on departure.

Excellent Location

Chick Trip, 8 of us, close to Harris Teeter for groceries and City Market and walking downtown to shop. Rental is UPPER LEVEL with 2 units: A = full kitchen, living area and dining, king bed, 2 bedrooms upstairs with 2 twins and 1 queen and 2 full baths. C = 2 rooms, queen beds, 1 full bath. LOTS of stairs. The only reason for a 4 rating on accuracy was that on the site it states 4 cars, and when we received the check-in email a week before there were only 3 cars allowed.

Holidays in Charleston

I had booked this apartment has a treat to my family (10 people) who was coming to visit Charleston and Savannah over the holidays. We stayed 5 days in Charleston. We loved the city but were disappointed with the apartment. The plus of this apartment are its location, itssize and easy communication. It is very well situated, a 5mn walk to the French Quarter. It is also fairly spacious and the communication with property manager was very easy. We were however very disappointed by the apartment. It is run down and is in reality two separate units, not one. We always try and find historical houses when we travel, we love their charm and are used to the inconvenience that sometimes come with it. This was the most run down we have ever stayed in. The shower in the smaller unit didn’t have hot water, heating system in the main unit doesn’t work well (it is extremely hot upstairs and pretty cold downstairs, and if you turn it down it is ok upstairs but really cold downstairs), the kitchen is run down and windows are damaged and cannot be open (both units). The kitchen equipment is also lacking if you intend to cook and eat in (we didn’t have enough sittings, dishes, silverware etc for 10). Based on the price (expensive), description and pictures we didn’t expect it.

Christmas in Charleston

I had booked this apartment has a treat and Christmas gift to my family (6 adults and 4 children) who was coming to visit Charleston and Savannah over the holidays. We stayed 5 days in Charleston. We loved the city but were very disappointed with the apartment. The plus (there are some) of this apartment is its location. It is very well situated, a 5mn walk to the French Quarter. It is also fairly spacious (unit A is) and the communication with property manager is easy. We were however overall very disappointed by the apartment. It is run down and was in reality two separate units, not one. First unit (C) has 2 bedrooms and one bathroom and the second and bigger unit (A) has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen and dining area. We always try and find historical houses when we travel, we love their charm and are used to the inconvenience that sometimes come with it. This was by far the most run down we have ever stayed in. The shower in the smaller unit doesn’t have hot water (unless you let the water run in the sink at the same time!), the heating system in the main unit is such that it is unbearably hot upstairs when not that warm downstairs, the kitchen is pretty run down and windows are falling apart and cannot be open (both units). The kitchen equipment is also lacking if you intend to cook and eat in (we didn’t have enough sittings, dishes, silverware etc for 10). Based on the price (expensive), description and pictures we didn’t expect it.

Clean & Responsive

The owner was very responsive to my messages which made the check-in process smooth. The house was clean and the location was perfect. Be ready for a tight parking situation, but that's everywhere in Charleston.

Charming home in a Fantastic location

Beautifully decorated house with the coziness of home. Plenty of room for the 8 of us. Our favorite activity outside of exploring Charleston directly was sitting on the front porch watching the streets below or playing cards in the dining area. The view at night is beautiful and shopping/activities are just a few steps away. David was absolutely accommodating with any questions or request we had. Had an absolute blast. Would love to come back!

This property did not adequately meet our needs.

Advertised as 5 bedrooms w/3 baths. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths in one complete living unit; however, 2 of the bedrooms were on the 2nd floor and no baths on the 2nd floor, which was very inconvenient. Additionally, one of the two baths was so small , a large adult male could hardly fit in the shower. The additional 2 bedrooms and 1 bath were in a separate unit, which you had to go outside to get to. It was not a complete living unit; only the bedrooms and bath. There was no hot water in the shower in this bath for 4 days. We requested a local phone contact several times but were not given one. There were overflowing trash cans for the entire 4 days at the entrance to the home. Unfortunately, this home was not charming shabby chic; simply shabby.
