A piece of paradise in Rivedoux-Plage!
A wonderfully situated spacious villa conveniently located within walking distance of the sea, local market, bakery, supermarket, restaurants and bars. The villa itself was spotless and well equipped and it’s open plan layout was ideal for entertaining. The pool and well layed out garden were fantastic, lending itself to beautiful starlit evenings ( plus a super moon shining down on our bbq) with the gentle sound of the waves crashing on the shore. The villa offered complete privacy in a very peaceful surrounding away from the noise of traffic. With the solar heated pool and so many entertaining areas creating such a calm relaxed atmosphere, we found it difficult to leave the villa and explore the beautiful island of Ile de Re, with its stunning beaches and beautiful villages like La Flotte and St Martin. We had a range of family and friends come and go during our stay, with each one feeling sad to leave. The airport is ten minutes away and the train station in La Rochelle 20 minutes by car. These travel links made it easily accessible that it allowed family and friends to come and stay with us from the UK at different intervals. Our dogs were made equally welcome at the villa and all the restaurants in Ile de Re, plus the added bonus of being a two minute walk to the beach. Our only regret, is that we didn’t stay longer than two weeks!
