Beautiful - But a Few Things to Know

The condo itself was lovely & wonderful...but tricky in some ways. Things I loved: Main floor living room and kitchen were beautiful -- wonderful views! Two refrigerators, plenty of storage, seating, and room for the 8 of us to all eat together. Beds were comfortable and the space was very clean. Things I'd change: Parking was tricky as it was underground and required multiple steps and maneuvering. Not so much of an issue if you have one mid-sized or smaller vehicle, but more than one, and an SUV, and it's somewhat of a process to come and go. The unit has a lot of stairs and is three stories. While it does have an elevator, I was glad I didn't bring my elderly parents -- they would've struggled a bit. The exterior of the building was being repaired and or renovated. We missed the garage entrance the first time because of the yellow caution tape that was draped around. Caution tape also blocked off the hot tub with a sign to not use the stairs which was disappointing. Workmen came through the back patio area during our stay and at a time when my 12 year old daughter was napping in her room with the blinds open. We ran low on towels & toilet paper the second day of our stay and had to call for more. Housekeeping staff brought more towels & was very polite and apologetic about the shortage of toilet paper. We eventually just bought our own. I really do understand the temporary shortcomings of this property (repairs, toilet paper, etc.), I just wish there had been some communication from management ahead of time. Overall, a nice property -- just didn't get that personal touch or consideration that we often experience with rentals.

We recently stayed at this property with another family and I think we would gladly stay there again. There were some Pros and Cons about this place that I wish I would have known when booking. Pros- -location is great, only about a 5 minute walk to the base. It's a little uphill going, but not too bad. When booking I was told it was .7 miles and it's much closer than that. - on demand shuttle. We were never told about this in conversations with Vacasa. When going to the mountain you can stand outside the place and shuttles come by every 5-10 minutes or you can call it to come take you anywhere in Steamboat. That was great. We got a couple of full lockers at the base that probably weren't needed because of the shuttle. -size. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and had plenty of room. Bedrooms are sizeable as are the bathrooms. The bunk room is small. We had two 12 yr old boys in there and I wouldn't go much older than that for that room. -kitchen. We had a small gathering of adults to celebrate a birthday and the kitchen was great for hosting. Plenty of dishes, flatware and cooking utensils. - view. Back looks out over the sunset behind the mountains. Pretty awesome. - hot tub with privacy Cons- -it's a little dated. Most things in Steamboat are that way and that's totally fine, but you can see where they have updated things (kitchen) and where they haven't (basement, bedroom TVs, exterior areas). There's actually an elevator in the unit which would be great if it worked. But none of this would keep us from returning. It's probably newer than 80% of the things in Steamboat though. - getting into the unit can be tricky. There were only two keys and you have to have one whether you come through the gate at the stairway or through the garage. You also may need to know multiple codes. Another area where the HOA could update things.. -Vacasa assistance. We only texted with their help number and they were responsive, but they actually never helped with what we were looking for (fireplaces, dishwasher pods, hot tub filter stopped working, etc). Again, none of those were huge other than the hot tub, but that was the last night of our trip.

Great house

We loved the house. It’s well set up for families. Maintenance needs to do some work in the hot tub. It went out twice during our stay and they only came over the first time. Other than that it’s great.
