This Country Cottage is situated in a quiet and beautiful wooded area southeast of downtown Kansas City. It is on one level, has key-less access and private parking. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a sofa sleeper in the living area to comfortably sleep 6. Guests will enjoy a full, well-equipped kitchen, laundry room, and outdoor living space. With an open layout it has a spacious and welcoming feel. The large master bedroom has a king-size bed, 2 closets, and master bath with a shower and jetted tub, as well as 2 sinks. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, a desk and closet, and access to the second bathroom, which has a shower. There is also access to the second bathroom from the hall. Both bathrooms are large and have large counters and mirrors and lots of storage.

The Cottage is separated from the residence of the owners by a 3-car garage. There are no additional homes on the property.

Been here for 3 years now for our small family gathering location. Probably the best location we have been to and we do these 2 or 3 times a year. Host is the most attentive of all that I have experienced. Highly recommend if wanting a quiet space for a small gathering.

We were here for the Sweet Adeline International convention in Kansas City; this house was about 30 minutes away, which we knew beforehand. Very quiet and hosts most pleasant and accommodating. We would stay again of ever in the area.

Lovely Country Cottage

This property was even better than advertised. The home was immaculate. The rooms spacious. The kitchen had everything desired and the tableware was good quality. The owners were delightful and you can tell that they have really thought about what is needed by the renters. There is a lovely wrap around porch where you can enjoy the beauty of your surroundings. The home is located in a secluded rural setting but only a quick drive to anything you might need. We will definitely stay there again should we return to the area.

This home is absolutely beautiful! Off the main road enough that it’s like being out in the country-so quiet & peaceful! There’s so much room & had everything we needed! We enjoyed playing games outside on the patio table! It was easy to communicate with the hosts & we were able to meet Lesli who was very sweet! We will definitely stay here again when we’re in the KC area!

Cute hide away cottage

Such a cute place. Hidden in the forest just enough to be cozy and out of traffic but close enough drive to what you need to. Lovely accessible showers and lovely home. Owner is wonderful and very helpful. Highly recommend!

Quiet Country Cottage

This property was delightful! We were 2 adult couples staying for 3 nights in this 2 bedroom/2 bathroom place. We came to Kansas City to see a couple of baseball games. This little hideaway in the country was fully equipped for our needs. Although the weather was hot/humid, we were cool and comfortable. The wrap around porch was nice for coffee in the morning. A bit off the beaten path but that's what we liked about it. Stores were within a 15 minute drive so we got what we needed easily. The hosts were readily available for restaurant suggestions and other questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderfully Comfortable and Accommodating

The cottage was an absolutely perfect place for us to spend an extended weekend. My husband and I met his aunt, uncle, and cousin who live far away from us. The kitchen was well-stocked. The living room, dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and spacious. Set in a peaceful wooded area, we enjoyed the beauty around us. We were very impressed with this place. 😁

Beautiful Cottage

The cottage was exactly as described. It was super clean and comfortable. We had more than enough room for 2 moms and 2 daughters in the area for state softball championships. It is located off the beaten path nestled in the country. Even saw a mama deer and her baby in the driveway one night. Excellent listing!

The Cottage

We had an amazing stay at the cottage. We were in the area for a youth softball tournament. This location is very peaceful and private. It’s a great change of pace from city and traffic which we thoroughly enjoyed. The space is large enough for everyone to spread out and relax. We enjoyed sitting on the wrap around porch. The hosts thought of all things needed. We would love to stay here again!

Charming

It was perfection. Very clean, peaceful, and charming. A lot of natural light and very comfortable. The vibe is good. The hosts were always available for communication. You can feel the love and joy emanate from the property and the cottage. My 8 year old granddaughter loved visiting the horses and found a four leaf clover that she’s “been waiting her entire life to find.” My one year old granddaughter felt most comfortable in the sweet little wooden rocker. She would smile her toothless smile from ear to ear when she sat on it. It’s apparent, that rocker belonged to and was loved by someone very special. Kids know these things. Memories made there, past present and future. The property, the cottage and the Goodmans are a blessing.

A Wonderful Surprise

The home was absolutely amazing! And the hosts were also. It’s nestled in the woods a top of a hill. We sat on the porch while drinking coffee and listened to Mother Nature sing her song. It’s located within 30 minutes of anywhere. In the country, but just a hop, skip and a jump to town. Very well kept, with everything you would need, just unpack and enjoy. When we need to visit the area, this will always be my family’s first choice!

2nd visit here even better than 1st

We love the Property. Perfect for small family gatherings like our Thanksgiving Dinner with the kids. The house always feels like home when we walk in the door. The hosts are lovely and will go above and beyond to make the stay perfect. This year, on the day of our departure, we had a couple of inches of snow on the ground, and I found the host had scrapped the gravel road on the hillside by hand to make it safer, as well as the front stoop then continued to brush our vehicle off from the snow on the windows.

A little slice of comfort

This home is exactly as promised! It was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. It truly felt more like being home than in a vacation rental. The house is nestled in an area surrounded by trees and is very quiet. We could see the stars at night without the intrusion of city lights and saw deer on the property every evening when we came home. The owners have taken the vacation rental experience to a new high and we appreciate their kindness. We would absolutely return if we were in the Kansas City area again. Family Weekend

My husband and I stayed at the Country Cottage with our daughter and her family for the weekend. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We have lived on this property (50 acres) since 1983. There are two homes here, connected by a 3-car garage. We raised 5 children here and still love living in the country even though we have been empty-nesters for several years. The Cottage portion was home for Gordon's parents for many years. We decided it would make a perfect vacation rental because of the privacy and beauty of the home and property. We did a lot of updating before opening up for guests and have continued to replace and refresh along the way.

Why they chose this property

This Country Cottage is a lovely and comfortable home with all the comforts you may want as you relax and unwind. The setting is beautiful and very private. We are out in the country, but not too far out! Grocery stores, shopping, movie theaters, and restaurants are within a short drive.

Please note that we have a strict no smoking policy, inside and out. Thank you!

We recognize that some guests travel with a service animal. We do the cleaning and upkeep between guests and, unfortunately, I am allergic to cats and to dogs that are not hypoallergenic. Please keep this in mind as you decide where to book. Again, thank you!

What makes this property unique

Here you will find a beautiful setting and view. You are very likely to see wildlife and will be surrounded by nature. The home is comfortable, inviting and very livable. It is furnished in eclectic farmhouse style. Some things are new, new-to-us, old and very old. It all comes together in a wonderfully cozy way. The wrap-around porch offers peaceful outdoor space. It features a porch swing, sitting area with wicker furniture and an area off the kitchen/dining area for outdoor dining or playing games.

The home cannot be seen from the road and has a 1/4 mile gravel driveway. Part of the driveway is a hill which may seem a little intimidating the first time. Just get some momentum and keep coming! Stay to the left as the drive curves to the right at the top of the hill. You will then see This Country Cottage! For easy access, the keypad will be programmed with the last four digits of the telephone number you provided when booking.

Please let us know if you will be arriving after dark and we will leave the porch lights on.
