We’ve stayed here several times and love it. Well stocked with cooking supplies/utensils. Quiet and tranquil. Close enough to Brule. We love it. We’ve stayed at their little blue property up the road too, great hosts!
This property is a diamond in a platinum setting; it's absolutely stunning. We enjoyed the privacy and the peace of the woods but it's very convenient to get to town. If I passed one car it was surprising. I purchased groceries after we arrived. The selection was great and prices were about 30% less than what I was used to paying. The angle of the pictures make the rooms look smaller than they are. It's very spacious and comfortable. For me it's about details. The kitchen is gorgeous with top of the line appliances, well-stocked and a convenient stash of basics like spices in the pantry, super comfortable beds, plush linens, seasoned firewood and a bathroom well organized. Everything was exceptionally clean, bright and welcoming. The owner is absolutely to be commended. She's kind, thoughtful, pleasant and caring. The best of the best! I strongly recommend saving a day to enjoy the property. Our kids enjoyed the creek and there's a picturesque path mulched with wood chips that is enjoyable no matter the weather. The stars are amazing in the national forest because there's almost no light pollution. We went down to the lake after dark for star gazing. The view of the Milky Way is breathtaking! I highly recommend and would love to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Secluded yet close to many nearby lakes.
Very well stocked for for all your cooking needs. Plenty of space to relax indoors or outside. Although though ther water I believe was well water you wouldn't be able to tell o smell and tasted great.Hope to visit again next year.
Perfect clean getaway in a remote environment close to everything you could want. Host was friendly, and accommodating. Cabin well stocked, easy to get into, quiet and well kept.
This property is absolutely perfect if you’re looking for peace and quiet and nature! We love to cook, so the kitchen and the grill provided us with everything we needed. We used the wood-burning stove for a cozy warm fire at night and we built a beautiful campfire outside as the snow fell! Ski Brule was our main destination and the mountain was absolutely perfect for the family! Not having much cell reception and Internet access while we were at the cabin was an absolute pleasure! We watched movies on the DVD player, played board games and enjoyed exploring the property on Pendleton Creek. Our host made sure that we printed out directions before arriving which made for an easy arrival. The country roads out to the cabin are absolutely beautiful. Lake Brule, Lake Ottawa and the national forest are basically in your backyard. We look forward to coming back and exploring the area more during the other seasons. Definitely an outdoorsman’s paradise! On the last day we had a nice snowfall, which made for a winter wonderland ❄️
I have had this cabin saved in my list for years...what was I waiting for! It was exactly what the family needed! If you are looking for a beautiful cabin in the woods where you can't see anyone else, and nature abounds, this is it! We have cricket wireless and it actually kept service to the cabin for directions but once we were there, lost service as stated...needed to go back about 5 minutes to get service back. As others state, there are neighbors around the area if you needed help, iron river is like 10 min and has an emergency room/hospital and we had 5g service there. Lol, can you tell I'm a nurse or that my husband is accident prone? The cabin has an amazing 6 burner gas stove, countertop toaster oven for making pizza, nice set of pans to cook with. The water was nice and hot! We enjoyed watching movies and playing board games as well as taking walks outside in the beautiful scenery. There would have been room to bring a trailer and utv, maybe next time! It was just gorgeous! My 6 year old says she wants to live there :)
This is the best cabin and our absolute favorite place to stay in the U.P. It is so quiet and the setting is breathtaking. The house is always very clean and well stocked. Our whole family agrees that our vacations to Iron River are the best.
We had an absolute wonderful time at this cabin. The perfect place to rest and reset from our busy lives. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck, inside the cabin watching movies, listening to the creek flow and the wind blow through the trees. We brought outside games with us and set them up behind the house in the specious yard.
While Iron River is a small town with a few things to do, you will need to do so traveling to see some sights. We traveled three days to Black River Harbor, L'Anse and Marquette. If you are looking for the tourist trap locations, Marquette is the city to visit. They have the Da Yooper's Tourist Trap and their downtown has some nice restaurants and shops.
We saw so much wildlife in the area around the cabin. We saw so many deer, turkeys, a new kind of duck we had never seen before, loons, herons, bald eagles, great lake gulls, and the highlight of the trip was a juvenile black bear.
The owner was very easy to communicate with. They were always quick to reply and had helpful tips on places to stay and eat. The next time we need another vacation like this one, we will be sure to head back to this cabin.
The house was amazing, the property was beautiful. The house have a great collection of movies for those rainy days! 10/10 will be coming back! Thank you to our host simply the best!!
Great property. Kitchen, living area and bathroom are top notch. Location is just remote enough. If you are bri ging a boat it can be tricky but still my favorite rental so far.
We had a great time. I recommend making sure you know how to get there and how to leave because once you get there you can't look up a new place on GPS. GPS got us there just fine though. The place was very clean and nice. Would definitely stay again.
This cabin is a great location for easy access to Ski Brule. it is well equipped, clean, and ideal for 6. Be aware that there is no cell phone or internet access (not that lack of either is a bad thing from time to time!).
Our family of 6 had plenty of space, larger DVD collection, local on a creek that fed a lake a block away. We are definitely going to make this a repeat.
