Guests will feel right at home, as the inviting decor and open layout allow everyone to spread out and find their own place to relax. The back deck is the place to be during warmer times of the year, as there is no better space to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or cold drink as you sit beside the firepit. As the sun dips below the trees, play pool inside as the smell of a home-cooked meal wafts in from the kitchen! Play a favorite show on the large TV and cozy up on the sectional until everyone dozes off to recharge for the next day's adventures.

Barview is a pleasant coastal town perfect for a peaceful vacation to the coast. Make your way to the plethora of state parks along the coastline and hike along the bluffs for breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. On your way home, stop in Charleston for a plate of fresh seafood at one of the local restaurants. Spend mornings beachcombing at Bastendorff Beach Park and feel the cool sand on your toes.

Not great, but not horrible

Well located and decent layout. Th pool table was nice, although there was dog hair all over it and there really was not enough room to use a full cue as it is a very tight fit in the laundry room. There was enough property to play pickleball. The floor looked dirty when we arrived and we had to mop the floor when we came in and the mop water was black after we mopped. There were only 4 rolls of single ply toilet paper for a group of 6 for 4 days and that was insufficient. There were only 3 dishwasher packs for 4 days also, that was also insufficient. We had to buy more of both. The ice maker was clogged with an ice blockage that we had to break up to use it.

Comfy house in a GREAT location!

This house was just the right size for our family of 4, with plenty of space for everyone to relax and hang out. Added bonus was all the space on that massive couch! We didn’t use the TV, just sat on the couch to read and chat. I know there was a previous review that didn’t enjoy all the greenery surrounding the house, but we absolutely LOVED IT! It made sitting outside very nice, being surrounded by nature like that. While we didn’t hear any dogs barking (per the owner’s description), we did hear a few of the roosters who live near by. Frequently. Of course, one morning, we also heard a nearby argument between a wild turkey and some crows, so there’s quite a bit of neighborhood “wildlife” around! The house’s location made it easy to get to all the activities we planned on (especially the marina and state parks), and was close enough to the city without being too close. We look forward to coming back to visit again sometime!

Great family home.

Sea Spray Chalet is set in a quiet secluded spot which was great for us! The house is bigger than it looks from the outside and has everything you can think of for a fun family getaway. Huge, comfy couch; huge tv with DVD player; tons of board games, a pool table & dart board for lots of fun; great set up rooms; a kitchen that has everything you could possibly need; and my grandkids absolutely loved the heated bathroom floor! Huge deck with a fire pit is also great! We didn’t get to use it because it rained the whole time - but would be so great for s’mores or just to sit around & enjoy. My only complaints were that the cleaning needs to be a bit more detailed and the towels and tablecloth are well beyond needing replaced. Regardless, we loved the house and had a great weekend.

The house is bigger than it looks when you first pull up. It is very comfortable and has everything you could think of needing! It is a bit secluded, which for us is great as we are looking for peace & quiet. It is an old house and has issues that most old houses do - but we loved it. The only issue we had was the cleanliness could have been a bit more detailed as there were a few things that were missed, but nothing that we couldn’t get past.

Holiday Get Away

Not as clean as you would think

This home is ok! Don’t go when it’s raining. Has many leaks in roof. You contact them to tell you about it and they are like not much we can do. One in the king room above the bed. 2 in the kitchen and one in the bedroom closet. Pump ran dry on the morning of check out. Found out leave water on for about 5 min and water will start flow again eventually. Cob web throughout the inside of house along with spiders galore. Other thank that it was ok.

Family coming together

We had a family member pass and there was several that came together for the funeral and stayed at your lovely home. Wish we Spaulding have been able to use the fire pit, but the rain wouldn’t let us. The yard has plenty of room for my kiddos to play and the swing was a fun thing to find. We were very pleased with your home and it was very close to the home my mom grew up in. Thank you! P.S. The kitchen chairs at the table have loose legs. We tightened them the best we could with our fingers, but they need an Allen wrench.

Everything we needed

The house is clean, plenty of privacy, beautiful location, convenient distance from town and the ocean. The pool table is very small, still fun, the fire pit is great. Only downside was the 1 bathroom.

Sea Spray Chalet Stay

We would stay here again for sure. The house was cozy and the heated floors in the bathroom was a bonus. I always read reviews before we stay anywhere. I almost cancelled because of the comments about the carpets being dirty with dog urine. We showed up and were pleasantly surprised their were no carpets. So maybe some updated pictures showing that would be a good idea. Things that weren't all that great was the wifi. It was very spotty and we never could connect it to our devices. Another thing we couldn't find was zip lock bags, foil, or plastic wrap. Which is a little inconvenient when your fishing clamming, and crabbing. Other than that, the kitchen was very stocked for everything you would need.

Great place to stay

Well set up home clean and ready for a great vacation. Only downside was neighbors shooting guns at midnight (I think they were chasing off a bear) over all a very fun and enchanting home to stay in. I will definitely come back

Multiple issues

The house is nice inside, outside is very unkept except for the deck. We would have been good with the listing except the house apparently functions on a well and holding tank which went out and we didn't have water. Vacasa answered the phone but had no sense that this is a safety issue. I had to insist that the issue be elevated immediately. The local person was nice and responsive. He quickly arrived and brought us water. He tried to fix it but said a well expert couldn't arrive until days later. He said this issue has happened before. The home should not be rented until the issue is really fixed. Vacasa offered us another rental which we went to. It smelled heavily of mold, had dirty carpets and the outside was filthy. The home should not be rented in the condition it was in. We immediately left and found another option. We notified Vacasa and I explained to the representative that the house was not acceptable for my family. Our family was gathering because my son passed away from cancer two days earlier. We were in shock and could not ask any of them to stay in the dirty house. I asked for my money back from Vacasa given the issues. There was hesitation but she was kind and took my request to someone. She said Vacasa would agree to fully refund which they have done. My reason for the poor rating is Vacasa should not allow rentals such as these to be rented until the owners maintain them properly. I gave two stars because of the two kind employees.

Not what worth it

No wifi like advertised. The TV didn't work the majority of the time. The shower backed up into the tub. Only nice thing was how close we were to the beach. The couch smelled like cat pee and the carpets were stained. For a house that you can't bring pets. Yeah would never recommend this place to anyone

Keep looking.

Pros: close to Charleston. Vacasa was responsive to our questions but don't appear to check out the condition of the rental. Cons: the house wasn't clean, had pet hair all over the house so if you have pet allergies stay away. The carpets are still stained with pet pee even though you'll see other reviews from last year about the same thing, nothing has been done about it. What's worse is they want you to take your shoes off at the door and walk on the pee stained carpets in your bare feet. Gross! When we mentioned that they wanted pictures not sure why when they knew about it last year? The internet never worked (also mentioned in other reviews). The kitchen is small and difficult to work around the table that fills the kitchen. The heat was apparently locked out and set to vacation mode as you couldn't adjust the temperature. It appears that maintenance is not a priority, the make shift can light in the kitchen looks like it's going to fall on you as the ceiling tile hangs low held by 2 screws. It could be a nice place with some professional fixing and updating. We have stayed at other vrbo homes with much better accommodations. Could list other issues about the conditions but what's the point!
