Sitting amongst the trees and away from it all, this mountain cabin is just the place to take a break and breathe in some fresh air with loved ones! The warm wood accents, high ceilings, and spiral staircase give this home a unique layout that will allow everyone to spread out and find their own favorite places to relax. When everyone returns to home base after a day of adventure, preparing dinner is a breeze in the fully equipped kitchen or on the gas grill in the fresh air! Plus, gathering around the firepit as the stars come out is always a great way to reminisce about the fun that was had that day. Come winter, everyone can cozy up next to the wood stove and watch the snow fall quietly outside or break out the board games for a bit of friendly competition.

Sitting ten miles south of Del Norte proper, you will be away from it all while still being near grocery stores, fabulous local restaurants, and charming breweries! After a long day of hiking Middle Frisco Trailhead or other local trails, a cold drink from Three Barrel Brewing or Colorado Grille & Tap House/ Mystic Biscuit Coffee House is never a bad idea. If you have a few skiers in the group, a day trip to Wolf Creek Ski area is well worth the 40-mile scenic drive and offers a plethora of groomed trails for all experience levels.

Quaint cabin

It was comfortable and roomy. Supplied with detergent, dish soap, dishwashing soap, paper towels, coffee filters, and a few spices. Everything was clean and welcoming.

Great get-away destination

House was far enough from the nearest town, 8 miles, but access to and from was easy. Had a great fishing trip and very comfortable place to stay!

Nice Mountain Cabin

This place was great! It was in a fantastic location next to public land. The stairs to the upstairs loft was a little narrow, great for children, not for adults.

Cabin fun!

Our large group fit comfortably in the space and the kids loved the magic of the creek and being in the trees. Overall a great setting for family fun! Be aware the spiral staircase to get to four of the beds is extremely tight, may be best suited for children or very able adults. Well stocked kitchen made cooking dinners a breeze. Del Norte has some great restaurants and the Lowe’s grocery was useful. Very kind people all around!

Needs attention

Needs mice / pest control, needs electrician, needs finish carpenter for micro wave fit & front storm door, needs garage or side access especially during in-climate weather, needs the water supply situation addressed

September Vacation

The place was clean and nice. Beds were very comfortable. Good location to go into the Rio Grande Forest from the house, and was still close to town if you need something. The place was nice and quiet. I would gladly stay there again.

Nice Cabin

The cabin is in a good location and is very nice and updated. The WIFI is much better than expected for being as remote as it is. There is only 1 bed and a sleeper sofa downstairs, all other beds are upstairs. Be very conservative with water, we ran on half way through our stay.

Perfect except 1 thing

Perfect location. Quite and beautiful area. The only thing is they need to trim their trees on the patio, you couldn’t use half the patio because trees aren’t trimmed at all. Also a tree and stinging nettles blocked the path to the fire pit.

Most of what I wanted

The cabin was located in a beautiful canyon south of del Norte. It was about 30 minutes from silver fork city. Looking back it would have been better if it was more centrally located to Silver Fork since that is were most of the hikes, lakes, etc. (-.5 stars for location). The other small inconvenience was the smell. The cabin had a number of taxidermy animals that were pretty cool however they carry a distinct smell. Similar to moth balls. We opened all the windows and it aired out pretty well however the smell lingered in the master bedroom. It wasn’t too bad but does deserve a small mark (-.5 stars for smell) The rest of the experience was good. We enjoyed the stream and fire pit. Also enjoyed relaxing on the deck star gazing.

Excellent Colorado Experience!!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our week long stay in this excellent cabin. We drove in to Del Norte, from 20 hours away in Mississippi. We promptly received our lock box code the day of check-in. We had four full size trucks pulling trailers with side by sides, and had plenty of room to park. The cabin was very clean and furnished with all the necessities. The mounts on the walls made a country family from Mississippi feel right at home. The cabin has a neighboring house across the creek, but thick vegetation does give you some privacy and seclusion. We could see that the neighbors were at home, but they were very quite. The house to the opposite side appeared vacant during our stay. The basketball goal entertained the kids for hours. We had quick access to the national forest with a short ride on the side by sides, which was nice also. The spiral staircase is narrow and a little difficult to traverse with a large duffle bag, but it is manageable. There is no cell service, but the WiFi is strong. There is no A/C but we brought box fans for the bedrooms and were fine. Highly recommend this property if you are looking to stay in the area. Lots of family memories made here that will be remembered for a lifetime.

Nice vacation property

Overall we liked the property. It had everything you need for a outdoors getaway. Location was good, but far from town and no cell service. Street getting to house was a little rough. Circular stairs getting to 2nd floor was pretty narrow and not ideal for kids.

Pleasant cabin in the mountains

The house was clean and well kept. It was a little difficult to find, but a nice getaway in the mountains. The refrigerator ice maker was not working. The check in was a problem because I wasn't sent the code to unlock the key carrier. I had to drive several miles to get within cell phone range to call the property manager. There was no cell phone service. That was problematic during our stay
