We all enjoyed the solitude this cabin offered. Our nightly trip back to our cabin offered lots of deer and elk sightings which was an experience. The cabin is clean & very tastefully decorated and supplied. We have no complaints and would stay again
This trip surpassed all my expectations. Beautiful grounds, and we were lucky enough to see some elk and large bucks. Did lots of fishing and relaxing. The cabins are all so cute and cozy. Will definitely revisit in the future!
We were looking for a remote vacation to get away from the Florida heat. We were lucky enough to find this excellent location. The cabin was just perfect we enjoyed four nights here….
Wish we could have stayed longer. The wildlife is amazing we saw elk deer and a variety of birds daily
We would highly recommend a stay if you are wanting absolute peace and quiet.
Ms Jane and her staff are top notch
We will definitely be making a return visit

Although the weather didn’t cooperate as we would have liked, we still enjoyed the quiet outdoors of the north woods. Evening drives taking in the sights of big elk and whitetail deer, day fishing at the private pond and evenings around the fire. We spent a rainy afternoon with lots of shops in Eagle river only a 30 minute drive from our stay. Check in was easy and Jane guided us back to our cabin. We will be going back again with more family and would recommend this to anyone looking to get away who enjoy the peacefulness beauty of the north woods
A much needed get away. All was good except for capsizing the boat and losing a cell phone, two poles and the trolling motor. My wife did have to clean the toilet. Other than that it was clean
The two bedroom cabin is attractive and well maintained. The kitchen had the needed equipment to cook dinner the few nights we were there. The owner recently installed WiFi, which is a nice plus. The lake is gorgeous and you really get the sense of being one with nature while staying here. Supplying the row boat was a big plus for us. We saw deer and elk, not from the cabin but while on the property. The fish weren't biting at our lake, but at the lake with the lodge on it the fishing was great. Caught good sized bass, crappie, and walleye. Several loons visited us each evening. This was exactly what my son and I were looking for. We recommend and will look to say again next time we're in the area.
I was looking for a getaway in the north Wisconsin. Had a great time in the cabin in the woods with a private lake to enjoy. Amazing place for a secluded stay. Very good value for the money. I will definitely come back. Property owners were very friendly as well.
A private, charming cabin overlooking a beautiful, peaceful lake and tons of wildlife to view. Host was a great communicator and we had everything we needed. I definitely recommend a visit to the Wilderness Reserve!
Beautiful little cabin tucked away in the northwoods on a lovely wildlife reserve. Very well maintained property on a small lake with lots of wildlife. It's a magical place to stay and there are elk to boot! Can't wait to come back to this area.
We found this property while planning a fishing weekend. This cabin is located near several lakes as well as having it's own private lake. The drive into the reserve is amazing! Our cabin was located 4 miles from the entrance and the wildlife viewing was plentiful.
The cabin itself was cute and clean. I only gave it a 3 star for clean since I felt the kitchen and bathrooms could have been left in better condition. We used the coffee maker and stove and everything was in working condition.
Firewood was available for us to have a nightly fire in the firepit.
We used the TV and DVD player and enjoyed a movie in the evening. Very comfortable furniture.
Fishing from the pier was fun! We caught a couple small bass. We spotted eagle, elk , deer, turtles, and otter from our cabin. We even heard coyotes at night. Truly a wilderness retreat!
No Wi-fi or phone reception at all. The cabin has a land line phone if needed.
I would highly recommend this rental or any located in this reserve.
The owners were very accommodating.
If you like nature, or need some peace to unwind, this place is the best! I only wish I could have stayed longer. Wonderful retreat, not many people, very secluded and they supplied some wood. The row boat was great too! Lots of trails, and plenty of elk. The only thing I recommend is a truck or maybe 4WD the roads have some steep hills here and there, Plus may get muddy with too much rain. Thanks for the stay and hospitality!
Drive back to cabin was a little long, but it was fun to watch for Elk, deer and other wildlife especially at dusk. The private lake was beautiful and very peaceful. The cabin was very clean comfortable. Communications with managers was pleasant and helpful. Would definitely return if we travel back to the area.
We just stayed at the wolf cabin with our two kids and we can’t say enough good things. From the second we booked, Forrest was in contact and very responsive to any questions we had. We were greeted with smiles from Lisa and Forrest, feeling very welcome from the second we got there! The drive to the cabin was exceptional and we loved watching for animals - our 4 year old especially loved this part. The cabin was just what we needed - cozy and clean. The views were spectacular and we enjoyed every second of our stay. We even last minute tacked on an additional night to our trip, and were still sad to leave! We cannot say enough good things about the wolf cabin and this property. We’re already talking about our next trip to the Wilderness Reserve!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Great views and neighborhood, poor cleaning
The cleaning was terrible. Lots of dirt on the floor and in the corners. There we many bugs in the windows. The cabin is definitely in need of an update... especially in the bathroom. i suggest ripping out the batchroom and adding a 10 x 15 extension to the cabin for a new bathroom. then, update the kitchen with new appliances and countertop. Also, the floor needs to be upgraded.
The view and the lake are spectacular. one of a kind location.
The property was beautiful and secluded. However, the lack of cell phone coverage and wi-fi made it difficult to communicate with relatives in nearby Eagle River. If you're looking for a place to unwind and unplug this is a great option.
The weekend we visited was extremely hot (90s) and we had difficulty sleeping because of the heat and mosquitos. But, I would guess that most of the year that would not be a problem.
The cabin is 4 miles off the main road so it feels like you have the whole world to yourself . Every morning we had breakfast on our screened in porch and listened to the turtles and the birds. We even saw a beaver building up its dam in the pond. The wildlife was amazing- elk and deer came out at dusk each nice. The cabin is quaint and modest, so come prepared with bug spray, charcoal for the BBQ, and a cooler for extra storage. The hosts were helpful and instructions were clear. Highly recommend.
Wolf cabin and the The wilderness Reserve property is a wonderful place to relax and explore an amazing well manage property full of wildlife, trees and fauna . This is out door person paradise. Expect some me bugs and some equipment sounds as this a managed property but mostly expect beauty, quite and solitude. Forrest Lisa and the staff are attentive your needs. The cabin is rustic and although not large it all the charming space you need with a fire place great screen porch overlooking the lake enjoy we did. Thanks Forrest ,Lisa and staff
