Large family holiday home with safe sandy beach and great fishing. Beach frontage, stunning panoramic bay views overlooking Great Barrier Island and generous deck. Indoor/outdoor flow, large fully fenced flat section - a wonderful safe escape for a family or families. Sleeps 16. Four double bedrooms and one huge bunk room. Kid friendly with easy rock climbing and adventures everywhere for them. "KneeDeep" is family owned and run.

Google street maps now allow you to "drive by" it for yourself without leaving your computer!

Late Summer escape
5 motorcyclists from Auckland rode to this bach for a three day/two night stay.We took our own food and cooked evening meals which were well catered for with two fridges, electric stove and all the kitchen equipment.It is a very pleasant location and we were able to catch several fish from the rocks at the South end of the beach.Highly recommended.

What a view! We absolutely loved the quirkiness of Kneedeep. Perfect spot for big groups, easy launch off the beach for boating. The double mattresses down stairs are definitely due for an upgrade but others it has everything you need for a good time away

Idyllic Family Getaway
We enjoyed another lovely family holiday at Kneedeep. The house is set up to handle entertainment in all weathers. The panoramic view is ever-changing, so even being indoors, we didn't feel deprived and could see what was going on. The weather improved for the last days of our stay and the location for diving and fishing was once again ideal. We love that the bach is truly kiwi iconic, no fuss, no frills and just like staying at Grandma's. We can fully relax. Thanks Shane and family!

Idyllic Get Away
We loved our stay at this comfortable, authentic Kiwi bach, with plenty of room. It was hard to get to on a gravel road, so we are glad we didn't try to bring our boat. The views and shoreline with tide pools made for fantastic explores. No internet though, and that was a problem for one member of the family who had to work, but the rest of us enjoyed the peace and remoteness.

Great old school Bach
Amazing location, saw some dolphins off the deck. Well equipped with everything you would need including kitchen appliances. Big back yard area including filleting bench and swings. Plenty of space and was nice and clean when we arrived. Typical old kiwi Bach, rough around the edges but perfect for a big group. Recommend taking mattress toppers for extra comfort if you don’t sleep well. Lots of books and board games available too 🙌

Motorcycling weekend
5 pensioners on motorbikes rode down from Auckland and stayed 2 nights/3 days. Faultless Autumn weather was a bonus. Accommodation was the same as last time - comfortable, warm and roomy, and everything we needed was supplied. Thanks again Shane, we have agreed this will be an annual event. And we caught a couple of nice kahawai off the rocks just to add to Saturday's fun!

Excellent position right on the beach suitable for our group of men fishing. Older style Bach which had all of the necessary amenities for our group. Shane was great to deal with & got back to me straight away when we had an issue with the hot water. Would stay again.

Easter break
We had an awesome time the weather was great and the kids had a great time at the beach. Our kids loved playing in the back yard the swings were well used as were the games and jigsaws.

Such an amazing family bach! Has everything you need.. We explored the whole area by 4x4 and boat.. Went diving for Crayfish, Paua and Kina.. We caught our biggest Snapper by the Mussel Farms.. Thank you so much Shane..

Comfort in Paradise
A well set up comfortable house in a stunning and practical location. We enjoyed swimming, boating, fishing, diving and bow fishing. We were able to hose down gear afterwards and fillet fish and have bbqs on the deck. Three generations of our family were housed very comfortably. Thanks!

Excellent location for a quiet, relaxing holiday with friends and family. Fabulous living area to chill and watch the ocean. Superb fishing, swimming, and hiking opportunities. We return every year and are never disappointed. A highlight this time was observing the dotterels that have increased in number significantly over the last few years.
