About this property

Beautiful, spacious, private and sooo relaxing

Beautiful Ngakuta Bay is set in the prime area of Queen Charlotte Sound.
It is a 15 minute drive to Picton or to the start of The Queen Charlotte track and 30 minutes to Marlborough's wineries.

Our picturesque bay has a large grass reserve to lovely safe swimming beach,a good boat ramp, a new jetty and ski lane. The bay has an excellent mountain biking /walking track that has spectacular views of Queen Charlotte sound and in our opinion views equal to anything seen on the Queen Charlotte track.
This area is a kayaking /boating paradise and has won NZ tourism wards and international recognition for its scenic beauty for both summer and winter.

Our large architect designed holiday home sleeps 13 and is situated in main Ngakuta Bay where the sandy beaches and boat ramp are [not in Little Ngakuta Bay]. It is a sunny resort style property for both summer and winter and is only a 2 min walk to the safe sandy swimming beach. 3 large heat pumps and heaters to every bedroom ensure a warm cozy winter stay.
The home is set in 1/2 an acre of private,lovely landscaped grounds with spacious flat lawns and is fully fenced.
The four living areas (dining lounge, TV den and playroom) all open out to attractive decks at ground level and a lush courtyard BBQ area for dining.
* If you wish to bring a dog please arrange this with me.
*If you have 4 couples we can arrange 4 double rooms.
* Sky digital 40+ MULTI room including sky sports 1,2,and3 no need to fight over the choice of channels with the children.
* The playroom has a table tennis table and some childrens books .
* We have 2 kayaks with childrens and adults life jackets available for your use.
* A 14ft round trampoline provides extra fun for the kids.
* Plenty of off-street parking.
* 2 large fridge freezers for plenty of food and beverage storage.
Our lay out is flexible ,we are happy to split king-size beds if singles are needed or to put 2 singles together to create a King bed.

Min of 2 nights required. Advertised rates are for 3+ nights, higher rates apply for 2 night stays and public holidays, please enquire.
Linen is available to hire at $28.00 per person and includes sheets, pillowslips, bath towels, bath mats and hand towels.
Handsoap provided, no bodywash is supplied due to the risk of potential bacterial and virus contamination

A fantastic stay for the whole family!
A very lovely stay in a beautiful place. We went as a family for a surprise 60th for my dad and it was a fantastic location. Even though the weather wasn't great for us, the house had all that we could need. The communication from Catherine prior to and during the stay was excellent and we cannot wait to visit again!

A wonderful property from which to explore the Marlborough Sounds. The house is beautifully appointed and the garden a real treat. We enjoyed exploring the local area on foot and made good use of the beach, it was good fun having the kayaks available. We liked boat trips from Picton and wine tasting near Renwick. Thank you!

Absolutely perfect
Beautiful house and gardens with everything you need in a fabulous location. We stayed here for a writers' retreat and we had plenty of room for writing, relaxing, and socialising. Loads of indoor and outdoor seating in a private area (secluded garden hidden from the road), and great layout in the house. Close walk to the beach. Excellent communication from the host who was very warm and welcomjng. We are definitely keen to come back!

This well appointed house is lovely, spacious and fitted everyone comfortably; 6 adults plus 3 young ones. The garden is large and private. We enjoyed the outdoor patio, and kids aged 5,8,10 enjoyed the trampoline and being so near the water. They also bought their own kayak, as well as using the ones at the house. Great walking tracks nearby. Highly recommend staying here and will do so again.

We spent 6 nights here with extended family; the house was perfect, great size for a large group and we loved sitting outside in the lovely garden everyday. Was great to have the kayaks for use and being able to walk across the road down to the bay was perfect. We loved our time here and would highly recommend. Hosts were great, easy communication and welcoming. Will be recommending to friends and family and we really hope to come back for another relaxing holiday!

This house exceeded our expectations, with every detail matching the description and photos. We appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as fresh flowers and a porta cot, as well as the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The layout is ideal for multiple families, with a trampoline and spacious yard perfect for kids to play. The location is unbeatable, and we were grateful for the three heat pumps, although a fan would help the upstairs rooms during hot days. The communication with Catherine and Paul was fantastic, and we can't wait to return to this beautiful house.
