NEWLY REFURBISHED. Originally a Woolshed in Martinborough's picturesque Dry River Valley, it has been converted with a modern contemporary feel inside while retaining its original façade outside. With open plan living and gorgeous bedrooms there is a feeling of space and tranquility, all while enjoying the warmth of a cosy woodburner fire.
Dry River Retreat is a relaxing getaway - offering the best of both worlds, it is a uniquely serene and tranquil retreat with the feeling of being a world away and yet less than 10 minutes drive to the Martinborough village.
It offers 3 bedrooms (Two with King beds and One on the Mezzanine Floor with a SuperKing split into 2 singles unless requested to be joint), a full scale kitchen, bathroom, laundry, beautiful gardens and large private outdoor living with uninterrupted views down the spectacular valley and a wonderful Spa Pool to relax and enjoy it all.
Please note that there is no cellphone coverage.

A child free getaway

Everything was perfect. The property was beautiful and immaculately kept. Jenny was wonderful to communicate with and always responded quickly. An absolute gem, would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful place!

We felt really privileged to stay in this place. It's so tastefully refurbished and has everything you need. The location is beautiful and the hosts truly go the extra mile. Highly recommend! We'll be back!

Time Out Getaway

Absolutely beautifully done. Excellent location very relaxing, although a little bit out of town. Cleanest place I’ve stayed in . Well done to the cleaner. Maybe could wash the top of black rubbish bin at door . Not complaining at all just probably an over site that’s all. Would defiantly recommend to anyone looking for a nice quiet retreat.

Restorative idyll

Short drive from centre but you are soon in a cleverly converted woolshed in an enviable setting. Just right to unwind. Relaxed but with some creature comforts.

The perfect spot!

Relaxing long weekend

Great renovation in beautiful gardens (magnolia tree in bloom). Comfy beds and great shower pressure. Plenty of firewood and lovely to have a spa in the evening. One thing, if you want to watch Sky Sports, you’ll need a SkyGo log-in for the app on The Smart TV (not a separate decoder)

One of our favourite holiday homes

We absolutely loved this place! It is located about 10-15 mins out of Martinborough on a very quiet street in an idyllic and private setting. We enjoyed the seclusion of the property and spent each night sitting in the hot tub under the stars. This old wool shed has been been beautifully renovated balancing maintaining the character of the property with modern necessities - it had really nice design touches. There is no cell coverage but impressively very fast wifi. No doubt we will stay there again. It was such a wonderful location when you want to escape the hustle and bustle.

Beautiful and relaxing in the countryside

Jenny’s place was amazing. It had everything we could have wanted for a relaxing weekend away from the city. The spa pool was incredible. Felt you you were away from everything but only a short drive into town. Highly recommend 😁

Woolshed experience

Great stay really enjoyed it, very peaceful location so quiet. Loved the outdoor bath you cannot beat it. Great ammenities throughout , everything youu need for a wonderful getaway.

A beautiful and comfortable stay

A wonderfully renovated woolshed that retains a lot of character without sacrificing comfort. Very comfortable beds and lovely furnishings. Plenty of garden space with outdoor seating and a bbq. Sadly it was too warm to try out the fire. We appreciated the “welcome pack” supplied. This holiday home has everything you could want in quiet surroundings but 10 mins from Martinborough. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend!!

Beautiful location and tastefully furnished

The Woolshed is in a beautiful quiet location minutes from Martinborough. We found the cottage in immaculate condition and a wonderful welcome care package awaited us. The kitchen was nicely supplied with all the cooking pots and pans we might need and the cutting knives were actually sharp! All linens and towels were supplied as well as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We have often found when renting that we first have to check out what is supplied with the rental and then find a local grocery to buy items we might need. Jenny has thought all of this through and all we needed to add for out stay was food. Highly recommend for location, privacy, quiet, beauty and comfort. A great place to use as a base for many day trips or just to hang out, relax, soak in the outdoor tub and entertain friends.

The Woolshed is a great conversion - modern, comfortable and homely. Comfortable beds and everything you needed was supplied. Peaceful surroundings and next time will try out the outdoor bath which is heated by a fire. If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable place, to relax at for a few days this is the place to be.
