We were spending the days with family in nearby Omori and only came back to the house to sleep so it met the need very well. Nice bathroom and showers and plenty of beds.
Welcoming, clean with 4 bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen and comfy seating arrangements. Enjoyed being a little out of the town and the reserve across the road. Perfect for 4 friends meeting up for a weekend.
This was an awesome base for our trout fishing trip. Central to all shops and close to all fishing pools.
Loved our stay - will definitely book again.
Thank You.
We were two families that shared the house for Matariki weekend. The house is close to all amenities, warm and cosy. Bedrooms are a good size. Kitchen had all the utensils and cockery we needed. Overall a great spot for families and friends to have a comfortable and relaxing weekend away.
The most comfiest sleep i’ve had in a very long time, the beds were my highlight the bach itself is perfect you have everything you need all under 1 roof. I would totally highly recommend to anyone visiting turangi :) Thank you we will definitely be back soon
This is the ideal stay if you have dogs, there is a park straight over the road, the garden is enclosed. The house and furniture are clean and tidy but not new, you feel like you can relax without having to police the dogs 24/7.
Property is nice and spacious. Never feel that we were tripping over each other.
The street is quite, and not being a throughfare means less traffic on the street. Great reserve over the road, shops and park less than 1km away.
Could do with a nice AirCon for those hot summer days, but there were fans around that were very useful!
Positives:
*It's an old quirky Bach (trout themed) but this gives it its charm.
*Great location near town & close to many beautiful Hiking areas.
*Kitchen has all the necessary items a typical family needs
*There are two toilets, which made it great for our family of 6
*The shower was awesome! Great pressure and cool water, made the hot nights bareable
*Rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds
Negatives:
*House was SUPER Hot inside when we arrived at 4pm, as no curtains/windows were open to air out the house. As all the bedrooms are located at the back of the house and with no back door entry, we could not push the hot air out.
*There is also no fan to help with this. After reading the reviews today, this is something that needs to be looked into, as it seems to be a constant issue.
*I suggest getting rid of the old silver cutlery. Not good when eating and you can taste it.
*Night time was horrible! SUPER Hot this summer, so we needed to keep all windows open... BUT as there is NO mesh or lace curtains on the windows, night time the mosquitos have a field day!
We had to buy mosquito repellant and fly spray, after our kids were eaten alive on the first night. (Again after reading the reviews, this seems to be a constant issue brought up years back....)
All in all - it was a good Bach & I would recommend this place, but definately needs a Fan & window netting for those pesky bugs!
We had a great stay! The house and location was perfect for our trip and very comfortable. The house had plenty of space, we were 4 adults and 2 medium/large sized dogs, and would comfortably accomodate larger groups. Fenced the whole way round, although low at the front of the property (so mindfulness required depending on your dogs tendency to potentially wander if not watched). Would definitely stay again.
Arrived and the fire was set waiting to be lit! Perfect as it was pretty cold. Park across the road good for dogs and Tongariro river trail great for longer walks. Perfect central spot to get easy access to trout fishing and Whakapapa. Thank you much appreciated!
Our stay was great weather was questionable but Taupo turned on the sun for our summer concert tour
House was great comfy & clean, shower pressure was amazing lol but all in all needed more time to experience more of the locality. Hoping to visit Turangi again soon when we can.
