About this property

Unwind and Relax and Enjoy the Sea Air

If you are needing to unwind or break up your journey then we highly recommend our cute little Bach. It is a great weekend retreat where you can really relax and get away from it all. Our holiday home is only a short walk to the beach, as at the end of the street there is a walkway that leads you straight there (no negotiating streets). It is also only walking distance to the local cafes and shops and to Waitarere Park which has a children's playground and tennis courts.

Outside shower - (Great for getting the sand off you)

Open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area.

Our Bach is suitable for both Summer or Winter. We have a air conditioner for the summer heat to keep you cool and a wood burner for the winter which heats the whole Bach very quickly. So you can either enjoy a drink on our deck in the summer or snuggle up with a book and enjoy the cozy warmth of the wood burner in the winter.

Waitarere Beach is a 10 minute drive to Levin, where there are many family attractions including two hydro slides for the children as well as a huge adventure playground. A further 20 mins down the road is a small township called Otaki which has now become a bargain hunters destination, with many factory outlet stores. Or perhaps you would prefer to go surfing, swimming, fishing or trekking through the Waitarere Forest. So no matter what you want to achieve for your get away whether it be a quiet weekend , or an action filled holiday for the family. Waitarere is a central destination which will please everyone.
Special conditions:
Smoking allowed outside only. Minimum two night stays preferred.
A discounted price can be negotiated for longer stays in the off season (outside the school holidays)

NOTE: Under Kiwi Bach tradition you are expected to: -
Clean the Bach. Do the dishes, and leave the Bach clean and tidy as you found it,
ready for the next guests arriving in.
There could be a cleaning fee charged if the Bach is not left clean.
You are also required to supply all your own linen. (Towels, flannels, sheets, Pillow Slips and tea towels)

Relaxing, cosy get away

Thoroughly loved our two night stay, only wish it was longer!The bach was so peaceful and relaxing, had everything we needed.We loved Waitarere beach, the swimming was awesome and the locals were very welcoming and friendly.Would highly recommend this lovely spot to anyone and we can't wait to visit again.

Just what we were after, extra space and a place to sleep while celebrating New Year with friends. Garage an added bonus to securely lock away bikes. Accomodation was very clean and tidy.

Great like bach. Very clean. Great location.

Bach is just as described. Very comfy beds. Didn't need to use the fire, because it was warm. Having two toilets is very handy. Turning off the water pump at night is recommended (as per the owner's suggestion). Would stay again.

Easter break

Was a great place to stay for the two of us. Very clean and had everything we needed. Only downside was that the bathroom was off the main bedroom, we had my elderly father in law stay for one night and the bathroom arrangement didn’t work. It was a shame it wasn’t obvious when we booked as we would of made other arrangements for him. Would stay again though 😊

Nice and clean and tidy exactly what we needed. Comfortable bed to sleep and quiet place to unwind after a busy day. Clear instructions and contact from owner made everything go smoothly with no hassle. Close to the beach you could hear the waves at night. Sadly the weather was wet so we werent able to enjoy it to it's full potential. Thank you for the chocolates nice treat to arrive to.

Lovely little bach with a modern interior feel

We really enjoyed our stay, and the bach suited us down to the ground. Perfect for a small family. The interior has been brought up to a more modern standard than your classic kiwi bach (which was a nice change) and it had a nice outdoor area, although we didn't use this due to the weather. It could be a bit closer to the beach (if that'sthe sort of thing that bothers you) but still only a 10-15min walk though the houses. The noise from the water pump is pretty annoying (even during the day) but only happens when you're using a tap or the shower, and there were instructions on how to turn this off a night. Certainly not in any way a deal breaker though, just mildly irritating. All in all, I'd certainly recommend a stay here.
