Enjoy home comforts in this renovated 3 bedroom sunny house In a quiet street. Fully furnished with a modern kitchen and bathroom, an ideal getaway for family holidays. The home is locally property managed so you can be assumed of a clean and tidy welcome. Suitable for children with a fully fenced back garden that looks out to two beautiful big walnut trees.

A great summer destination with the lake and enjoyable winter hot spot for the mountains and those that just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

A heat pump ensures you can cool from those hot summer nights and to warm up instantly during the winter. Panel heaters are available in all bedrooms for those frosty nights.

Located centrally in Turangi, Walnut Cottage is 5 minutes drive from the Tokaanu Hot Pools and geothermal area; 6 minutes from a boat ramp; 40 minutes to Taupo and the Whakapapa ski field; 5 minutes to the Tongariro River and an 18 hole goft course; various hiking trails close by and just a 10 minute walk into town.

Guests to bring own linen and clean on departure unless a cleaning service has been pre arranged (additional $75.00)
Special conditions:
Same day bookings can be arranged. Minimum 2 night stay. (3 nights during peak periods including school holidays and long weekends)

Tarrif: $85 - $125 per night for up to two adults - $10 per night for addtional people

Extras: Cleaning (Optional, NZ$75.00 per stay); Linen (Optional, NZ$25.00 per person); Cleaning Bond - required if self cleaning on departure. Returned within 48 hours of check out if property left as found. (Optional, NZ$40.00 per stay);

My mum and I were here visiting from Sydney. We are from Turangi and still have whanau living there. We stayed here for 12 nights, the property was fantastic, very homely and clean and has everything you need! The fire kept us toasty and warm! Would definitely stay here again!

Walnut Cottage is a very nice place to stay.
Walnut Cottage is a very nice place to stay. It is well appointed and clean and we were very impressed with how child friendly it was. Having the guard around the fire was a real bonus. The only negative, which is not really a negative, is that the sky remote didn't work. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you

Had a great time and the house was perfect for our needs. Very clean with everything you’d need with a very comfy bed. Not on the lake but a close enough drive the house is situated in a quiet suburban street. Looking for views, maybe not but looking for a comfortable place to hang then this ticks the boxes. Booking and communication were great and we always knew what was going on!

Perfect Turangi Bach
Had a great 10 day stay and found Walnut Cottage to be the perfect base for everything Turangi/Tongariro. Exceptionally clean and comfortable with every amenity required for a short to medium term stay. Highly recommended.

Lovely spot. Perfect for skiing at Whakapapa. Really warm and cosy.
This property is ideal for small groups or 2 small families. It has everything you need to make your stay a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Only a stones throw from Whakapapa and Taupo. Would recommend for others.
