About this property
Beautiful character home furnished with antiques.
Hillington was once part of a 12 acre estate with extensive gardens and orchard. It included a gardener's cottage and tennis court at the front of the house. The maid's quarters are now repurposed as a bedroom and part of the kitchen. You can enjoy the grandeur of the house with its stunning furnishing and artworks, but also relax on the peaceful west facing verandah. Two of the bedrooms open to this area.
On the other side of the house is the large outdoor dining area under the wisteria covered pergola. The pool is nearby and well fenced. Adjacent to this area is an outside bedroom with a king size bed and a king single bed. There is a loo adjacent, but not a full bathroom.
There is an extra charge for this room.
To summarise: THE MAIN HOUSE SLEEPS 11 GUESTS FOR THE $1000 p.n. fee. The outside room is $150p.n. extra.
3 Minutes to Havelock North village.
15 minutes to Bridge Pa Golf Course. 30 minutes to Cape Kidnappers Golf Course.
Special conditions:
The house is for single group bookings.
A minimum of three nights is required.
There is an outside room with a queen size bed and a king single bed. Suitable for teenagers.
There is an adjacent loo.
There is an extra charge for this room of $150.
Extras: Cleaning (included); Linen (included);

About the host
Hosted by DenisHa2

Denis and Margie are now retired after careers in Law and teaching. They have lived in Havelock North since they married in 1968. Denis grew up on a farm in Hawkes Bay and Margie came from Wellington. They have always loved buying and renovating houses and Hillington reflects their interest in fine art, reading, history, travel and fine furniture. They love gardens and gardening and were thrilled to take over the care of this beautiful house and established garden.
Why they chose this property
When you come to stay at this beautiful property you will be able to imagine that it is your family home. Imagine our family heirlooms are yours. There have been generations here before you who have loved this house and garden. The house is very spacious and the large garden allows guests to spread out and find a quiet space or be right in the fun near the pool and outdoor dining space.
What makes this property unique
Has been part of the Hawkes Bay Holly Hospice Trail.
This historic house was once two storied, but the top storey was removed in the 1930s and taken elsewhere. See the photo in the entrance hall when you are there.
