ACCOMMODATE 19 - OCEAN FRONT.

TOHORANUI has become one of the most popular beach stays over the last 10 years. We have now made major improvements to the original hot spot. Tohoranui has become 2 apartments, One apartment is the hosts accommodation. The 2nd apartment is exclusively designed for 19 guests. We have designed the layout so our guests not only get excellent value, but also experience spacious living while on holiday.

TOHORANUI is located at 703 Pukehina Parade at Pukehina Beach in the beautiful Western Bay of Plenty. We are 45 minutes from Tauranga, Rotorua and Whakatane all being tourist hot spots from NZ culture to a volcanic White Island adventure. The closest supermarket is in Te Puke about 15 minutes drive. There are 2 stores with takeaways at Pukehina beach. We also have a restaurant and bar (The Hippy Pipi.) Pukehina Beach is perfect for a relaxed break or action packed adventure. The usual experiences at Pukehina Beach is fishing for Snapper, Kahawai and Gurnard by surfcasting, kontiki, kayak or from a boat launched from the boat ramp just a few metres from our front gate. Flounder can be caught netting in the estuary. Shellfish (kaimoana) pipi, tuatua, mussels and paddle crabs can also be harvested in the estuary or surf. Beach walks are a must along the sandy Bay of Plenty coast. Kayaking can be exciting in the surf or simply leisurely exploring the Pukehina estuary.

Family trip
We stayed at this property with a large family group over the weekend. The whole family loved the bach. The was spacious with 2 large living areas with a tv each. The kitchen was equipped with 2 large fridge/ freezers, a lot of storage and large stove and oven ideal for cooking for large groups. The location was magical as we had both the beachand estuary only steps away. Also a play group for the kids at the estuary. The view from the house only looks on to the estuary and not the beach. The hosts were helpful,with detailed communication prioir to our stay and organized a smooth check in and out and gave us complete privacy. We highly recommend this property and host to all..

With multiple living areas and bedroom areas, it didn't feel crowded with 3 families. It was clean and well appointed Thanks for the extras like the jigsaw puzzle!

Great for a crowd
Had family and friends stay - great for a crowd. It was nice John met us on arrival. Great views over the estuary, especially from upstairs (along with peeks of the ocean). Very close to the boat ramp Clean and tidy. Long garage - might fit two vehicles Don't rely on there being any foody bits and pieces - bring everything - including salt and pepper/cooking oil/paper towels(which I did anyway). Coffee plunger available - so if you want to brew any other way - bring it :-) Overall, a great place to stay

Wonderful week in Pukehina. House is great for a big group. New decked area was a nice addition. John was very helpful and the wood for beach bonfires was much appreciated.

I would recommend this holiday homeany large group, family etc. The property is very spacious, clean & has all modern conveniences anyone needs. Safe swimming in the close by Estuary which is great for younger children and adults. The walkway next to the property leads down to the beach. Great for walks and swimming etc. Just a super Place to stay.

The house was perfect for a large group. Handy to the beach, shop available if needed and enough bedrooms and facilities to suit. About 40 minutes to the Mount. Kitchen was easy to work in but it would have been nice to have larger pots to cook in for the numbers we had (19). Thanks

Beautiful home
This beautiful home suited the needs of our big family. Everything was supplied we didn't even need to bring anything extra besides food. Close to beach and estuary what more can you ask for. Highly recommend this place, also because you don't really find many houses that sleep large groups. Lovely hosts, communication was great and some of us got to meet the owner who was very friendly and took the time to have a chat which was very much appreciated. Thank you John and Lorraine. Big enough for the entire tribe
Accomodates a large family unit. Beach and estuary are easy access. Big enough house for seperate spaces. Lots of board games. Nice home and easy to clean. Very good stay.

Perfect whare for extended whanau
We have just returned home from a weeks stay at Tohoranui and had a fabulous time. The house was exactly as described in the description. The option of two swimming locations was great. Lots of fishing, food and fun. They even have a cool little craft stall that my family enjoyed browsing. Plenty of space for all ages and very safe. Playground across the road was perfect for our 5 little ones. A great host that respected our privacy. Would highly recommend.
