2 Bedroom house close to town and beach

Our 'Napier Nook' is a cute cottage close to everything you'd want to do in Napier. Enjoy the walk/cycle path which follows the coast. Also, the beach, playground, shopping, cafes, bars and eateries just down the road. Napier offers many tourist attractions such as the National Aquarium, Art Deco architecture and annual festival weekend, various concerts, vineyards, Ocean Spa hot pools and much more. There is enough off road parking for 2 vehicles plus usually room on the road. Room to park the boat with the marina and boat ramp near by. The property is alarmed. There is plenty of comfortable seating if it's a relaxing break you are after. Cellphone coverage is best on the verandah or in the back yard. The oven is a small bench top oven with cook top. An electric frypan and microwave should cater for basic cooking facilities. There are a range of DVDs available. Linen, pillows and duvets are provided for the beds in the bedrooms only. Our holiday home is an affordable option for families, couples or small groups wanting to have a comfortable stay with all the basics provided.

Very handy location, close to beach and city as described. Great communication, except was surprised to be given a wrong number address (not too far from the actual house). Generally clean, would prefer to have firmer mattress. A bit noisy neighbour (could be duto time of the year(

You can do better
Read reviews and got the impression it was clean but basic which suited us. We didn't want TV/internet on holiday. We don't need luxury and do a lot of basic camping.Found it very dank and musty inside. We arrived and had to sit outside with doors open. It didn't really clear much over the rest of the trip as weather damp. Found clothes moths in lounge. Curtains had been nibbled. It was clean in the sense of good linen on beds and no dust but had mould around window sills. It was difficult to get in front door, almost had to call host as door lock seized. Husband eventually got it working. I could never open it with key and had to get him to do it every time.If you are thinking of staying here I recommend increasing your budget and staying somewhere nicer or just going to a campground cabin that is aired out and has a healthier environment. The family will be happier.t of black mould on

This could be a great place with a little bit more care. A nice old little house turns decrepit because of lack of maintain. A fridge that never stops working is really to old…Some efficiency in managing this house would turn it to a little paradise.

Home away from home
Reached the location, found the keys as stated by the property manager, went in and to our surprise the house was awesome. We were not expecting it to be that clean and tidy but infact it exceeded our expectations. Even though the heat pump wasnt working, the property manager had extra heaters for us. And it felt like home away from home.

We were just needing somewhere to sleep while we visited a family member. It was clean and had everything we needed. Heat pump was useful. I would have takwn some toys for my 4 year old but it said children toys there and I couldn't find any but wasn't a major! Suit led us for what we needed

Old but practical
The place is very old, has some quirky ness to it that is cool, some that isn’t so much. Definitely Presentation could be nicer ie: duvet covers were miss matched faded and had bird poo on one but there were nicer newer ones in the cupboard, the lounge suite could be upgraded or cleaned, more pillows and Cleaning or painting of walls as it is white. But they are all easy fixes and didn’t make a difference to us as we were just sleeping there.

Great little cottage, good location, heat pump excellent for both cold and hot conditions. Fridge a bit loud, can hear in bedroom. Lack of phone coverage got annoying. Bring your own pillows. But generally good value.

It was really well set up, the front balcony is cooler and good for internet access as no wifi in the home. We had a great time, thanks for having us. The air conditioner helped on a 32 degree day.

We are a family of 4 (mum, dad and 2 school age boys). I am a part time teacher, part time mum and my husband is a gardener. We live in rural Central Hawkes Bay. I grew up in Hastings and have always loved visiting Napier, my husband is from Taranaki and came here for the better climate!!

Why they chose this property

Whilst our children were pre-schoolers we often went for day trips to Ahuriri to enjoy a day out. We decided to invest in a little bach there as a weekend getaway for our family. We love to bike, walk, shop, eat and attend family friendly events in and around Napier.

What makes this property unique

It is child-friendly, with an enclosed back yard and basic furnishings. It is just over 100 years old, a little fisherman's cottage - a slice of Napier's history. We love that it has everything we need for a little getaway and is close to everything to do with Napier.
