About this property

Charming cottage in Christchurch central city

Entwhistle Cottage has been rebuilt with the same compact proportions of the original working man's cottage but reworked to make the most of the space and light. The kitchen, dining, living are all open plan looking out to the sunny courtyard. The small bathroom is lovely with black and white tiles and some vintage touches. The whole cottage is tastefully furnished with character and kiwiana touches.

We are happy to cater for families with two singles in the second bedroom(that can be made into a king). The sofa can also be made into bed for a third child/extra guest.We also have a toy box, a fenced courtyard and a small park right opposite. Entwhistle Cottage would also be the perfect, romantic spot for a honeymoon stay.

We have free WI-FI and are also able to offer free-range eggs from our own hens when available. There is also tea, coffee and sugar. Parking is free on the street outside the cottage.
Special conditions:
The price is for two people. $20 for each extra adult, $15 per child.
2 night minimum. Happy to take a one night booking if I have a one night gap between bookings. There are a few of these available over our summer season already so please inquire!

Just a lovely character cottage to come back to at the end of the day. Lovely to unwind with a glass of wine in the sun. Loved the eggs and little extras. Even managed the DVD process without any problems. Perfect

Very lovely Cottage in a nice neigbourhood close to the CBD. Karen the owner is a very friendly and helpful host. We got stuck in Christchurch because of the Corona-Virus Pandemie and we were very lucky to be able to extend our stay at this charming home. Roland (Switzerland)

Wonderful stay in a lovely cottage
This was our second family stay in this lovely cottage in a great location to explore Christchurch. We really enjoy the cosy and comfortable facilities and lovely décor of this cottage. The outside decked area also provides a nice outdoor space to enjoy and there is a little park across the road also. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone travelling to Christchurch.

Cute as a button!
Lovely, cosy and clean!! Really comfy beds and the street is so quiet, even on a Friday night. It was so near the central city we walked easily into town. It has a very good wholefoods shop and cafe/herbal dispensary just around the corner. We will definitely stay again.

Beautiful bungalow 15-20 minute walk from CBD
This light, airy bungalow was completely rebuilt after the 2011 earthquake, and is thoughtfully done. Kitchen is well furnished including many condiments and some staples (oil, flour), and fresh eggs and milk were provided! Communication with owner was excellent. Easy level walk to CBD, and #7 bus stop a block away. There are a couple of oddities: there is no counter near the bathroom sink (although there is a small cabinet above, and a small low stool for hand soap which is a bit awkward), and the door to the second bedroom can only be opened about 1/3 because it is blocked by one of the beds. Despite these quirks we would happily stay again.

Cozy Cottage
We were very impressed with this adorable, refurbished perfect cottage in Christchurch! Easy walking distance to a delicious cafe, and not too far from a great section of town to shop and eat!

Perfect fit
The cottage was perfect for our first few nights in NZ. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Information and maps were provided as were eggs and milk and everything we needed for a nice stay. Very clean and very comfortable.

Perfect place to stay
What a gem! Enjoyed our stay at Entwhistle cottage in Christchurch. I wish we had of stayed longer than 3 nights. we felt so relaxed. Easy walk into the CBD, close to playgrounds, pub and cafe with excellent food. Beds were comfortable, water pressure was excellent, house was spotless! Loved the DVD's, and the folders of information provided.
