The place was nice but the photos online were a bit misleading, making it seem as if the property was bigger and that the water was more easily accessible. On top of that they appeared to be doing construction and had stuff sitting around everywhere.
Being able to dock my boat at night was very convenient. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was the traffic noise from Old 27. I would stay there again
The cabin was clean, but I thought the couch was another sleeping space. I had to buy sheets and a comforter. There were 3 adults and we each needed our own bed
The lake wasn’t convenient. Crossing a busy highway and a railroad track to get to it. Water quality is poor with high e-coil readings. There was actually a warning against swimming. That should be shared with guests. Most people do not think to check water quality. Transparency about this would increase your integrity.
More info about what was needed in the cabin regarding toilet paper and paper towels would have been helpful. The towels are of poor quality, and there was one hand towel, 4 towels and 3 washcloths.
Lowering your price is recommended and more descriptive narratives on your site.
Enjoy our stay ! Swam in the lake both days
Bring a portable burner and a skillet with you if you need more than a hot plate
Will be back for the 20th Big ticket festival 2024
Even considering bringing our daughters and grandkids back for a weekend stay!
Thanks Tad

Our host was very kind and thoughtful. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. They are in the process of remodeling the outside and the landscaping. The lake is very beautiful and the dock with the fire pit was a very nice way of enjoying the sun set. So very glad that we stayed there.
This cottage is right across from Otsego Lake and a very short walk to a swimming beach. The sunsets were amazing. It is charming, clean, and exactly what a Northern Michigan cottage should look like. Great communication with the property owner. Would definitely stay here again!

Notice of address needs to be sooner when reservation is paid in full.
Parking with a boat is very limited. Although, we were fortunate to have an understanding neighbor.

Small clean cabin, right on Old 27
Check in was not as email stated, lucky neighbor next door let us know you need to go to vrbo messages to get code. I am light sleeper, did not sleep well with the road noise. Place was clean and photos were accurate. No AC
We were there with my 14 year old son, who is developmentally disabled and his 13 year old sister. They both had an amazing time fishing and kayaking from the dock. One night, my son took the kayak clear across the lake and Tad took the time to go find him and bring him back. The cabin is comfortable, but there is no stove. However, there is a gas and charcoal grill which we used to cook chicken and the fish my son caught. Easily, the best trip to Michigan. Thank you again to Tad and his wife.
Tad was very helpful and responsive if we had questions. The place was perfect for our needs and we look forward to their expansion renovations and staying there again.

The cabin has a beautiful view of Otsego lake and very close to a lot of golf courses in Gaylord. Also really close to the freeway. The bed is a little hard and the living room could use another comfortable chair. Overall, it served its purpose.
Cute little cottage, with a great view of the lake, everything work great , the cottage was very clean .

Why they chose this property
The cottage was built around 1948 and has the original stone masonry fireplace as its center piece. The interiors are very cute & cozy with original tongue & groove knotty pine walls, new windows & entry door and awesome view of the lake. The exteriors include a covered entry Porch, parking right outside the door, new insulated roof, fresh cedar log & split shake siding along with cedar board & batten & cedar trim. We're working hard to make this property a treasure for our Guests. Located in the heart of northern lower Michigan there's a bounty of fun, dining & entertainment, enjoy.
What makes this property unique
Our private 110' deck/dock is anchored at the shoreline by a 24'x16' deck with stairs up to the mainland path. It's secluded and quiet at our lake deck, almost lagoon-like. There's good swimming and fishing right from the dock. The deck/dock is equipped with built-in benches, deck furniture, fire-pit, 3-kayaks with paddles, life vests, kid's toys, pillows and a private beach at the deck. We also have bicycles available for rent.
During the winter the Iron Belle trail is part of the snowmobile trail system, so access is direct from the cottage. We also offer our Guests ice fishing with an insulated / heated shanty, guide service for fishing including spearing is available. All our Guests are welcome to use our amenities so please be courteous with one another.
