We loved it
Close to Okareka lake which my wife would go to each morning to watch the sunrise while the lazy father and son stayed in their beds. We did all do the glow worm kayaking tour on this lake which was amazing and highly recommended. When we looked at the online listing it wasn’t clear that the accommodation is attached to a house. But this didn’t effect our privacy at all. It’s a beautiful house with a close to nature feel about it while still being close to some great activities like the redwood tree walk. We loved sitting on the porch and having tūī and other birds pop over to feed on the bird feeder attached the garage. Thanks to the hosts. We appreciate it.

Lovely apartment where we relaxed after busy days visiting local attractions. Recommend using the public BBQs by the lake - so beautiful. Host very helpful and accommodating, which we fully appreciated, along with the egss from the backyard chooks!

Lovely humble space
This is a lovely property. The owners live on the top of the rental so this is a whole house and just the downstairs section is rented out. There is private access but you can hear the owners upstairs and park on a shared driveway. The space needs a deep clean but was fine for two nights. Note: there is only one queen size bed for for adults. The bunk beds are tiny and are only fit for small children under ten, and the sleeper couch in the lounge / kitchen area is the old fold design with the crease down the middle only fit for one person. So this works well for a couple sharing the queen with two small children on the bunk beds, but not for two adults sleeping separately as the other adult won't find a comfortable space. The kitchen is lovely. The bathroom is accessed through the children's bedroom. It's a 15 minute drive out of Rotorua. The pictures suggest a Lakeview but there isn't one - you have to walk to the end of the street to see the lake.
