About this property

A magic spot for couples , friends or family for a special holiday! Well equipped for al fresco eating and days on the expansive decks. The beach is two minutes walk and along with the swimming beach, there is a large lagoon for safe fun with the kids. Fishing off the rocks and nearby golf courses at Matarangi and Whitianga . The renowned Lukes Kitchen and cafe is 5 minutes over the hill for wood fired pizzas, coffee and live music. . This is a special spot easy and relaxing, secluded yet just 30 minutes from either Whitianga or Coromandel town
Special conditions:
Expectation is guests respect and leave the place neat and orderly, with benches wiped, dishes cleaned and put away etc, barbecue doesn't need the full works clean down - but should be scraped down and tidy (kiwi bach rules)

Best view on the Coromandel

Perfect location for Ōtama beach positioned equidistant between the two beach access points. This bach is light and bright with spectacular views of the sea from every window so no guess work on beach conditions. Mozzie nets mean your sleep is insect free on comfortable beds with good pillows. Stove, fridge and cooking equipment provided made self catering easy. Highly recommended.

Second time, just as amazing

Our perfect holiday

We absolutely loved our stay in Otama. The view is incredible & much like another review said, we had planned to adventure round, but actually preferred to spend most of the time at the house. Communication was great, everything in the house was as stated in the listing. Am already thinking of when we can get back!

Incredible open view

Had a wonderful Labour Weekend at Otama. The internal living area is compact but furnished to work well (with good sized bedrooms and kitchen) and the massive deck and incredible view add both physical and mental space! Otama beach itself is stunning. Felt very lucky.

Perfect getaway

An amazing place to completely unwind. The view is spectacular, location idyllic and the house has everything you need to be completely self sufficient. This was our second stay at this property and we will definitely be back.

Solid bach on a beautiful beach

It’s a simple bach which has everything you need. The rooms are rather small but hey, with such a beautiful beach in front of the house you just use it to sleep there. I‘ve seen many baches in New Zealand and I would say that this one is pretty average. It’s more about the place than the bach. We enjoyed it!

Beautiful beach. Perfect bach. Amazing location

Our stay at Otama Bay for 10 days was idyllic. A really stunning east coast beach with great swimming. The beach house is located above the beach with panoramic views. The owners have thought of everything and the property is perfectly set up for a great stay. The host was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this as a holiday stay and will return someday!

Coromandel Gem

This property is perfectly situated with breathtaking views over an isolated beach. The bach itself is cute & compact with all that we needed for a short stay get-away. The place was clean, kitchen very functional, and owners great to communicate with. We would rebook in the future without hesitation.

Stunning beach holiday in perfect bach

This gorgeous bach with huge deck is set in fabulous Otama beach. Perfect from sunrise to sunset. Everything you need from great kitchen to games, books, bean bags and snuggly beds. Walk on the beach and you’ll see dotterels, oystercatchers, gulls, gannets; fishing is good too, culture and history too. Lovely get away. A little bit of metal road keeps the masses away too!

Ultimate Retreat

Wow what an amazing spot. We had a super relaxing 6 nights here. The view from the house is truely spectacular. The house was really clean and well set up, beds are really comfy with great communication from Paul. We will absolutely be back again to recharge and enjoy Otama.

Super Bach…with the most beautiful view!

Our 5 days at Opito Bay felt like we were staying in our own private beach…the Bach was perfect for our family, the deck and outlook was our ‘go to’ morning and evening! Thank you for having us! This private corner of the Coromandel is a real gem. Also great for boating!

An incredible getaway

The world fell off my shoulders as I walked up the stairs and onto the deck which takes in a panoramic view of the coastline. The batch is wonderfully clean, warm, comfortable and fresh with everything you need to either stay fully in the batch or use it as a base for adventures. Book this batch whatever the weather because whether basking in the sun on the deck with the stacker windows and ranch-slider open, or watching a storm roll in from the comfort of the couch and the ocean pounding at the shore...you will not be disappointed. The hosts are amazing with excellent communication, and were wonderful accommodating us at short notice. We cant wait to return.

Otamas the best

A quintessential kiwi bach in a stunning location. The owners were great to deal with and provided plenty of useful information about the property and surrounding areas. We were even lucky enough to watch Orca swimming just off shore from the deck!
