About this property

Fantastic Cuba apartment

Welcome, we are excited to announce our new Cuba apartment. Please relax and enjoy our lovely courtyard and our great looking furnishings. This apartment is a 2 minute walk to the top of Cuba street, which makes it the perfect location. This space is really private and quiet, so please make yourself feel at home. There is also free unlimited WiFi and a huge 58 inch TV. Please see my other listings for reviews.

PLEASE NOTE: There is only 1 main bathroom with a shower, toilet etc, there is another .5 bathroom downstairs but only has a toilet and basin.

Parking:
It is pay parking along Torrens Terrace but not all the time. It only applies applies from Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm. Even during this period the first two hours are free and no coupon is required. If you want to park longer than two hours you do need to buy a coupon which are available from local shops including the mini mart on the corner of Webb St and Torrens Terrace.

Adequate near Cuba

Good location. Property not well maintained eg. broken floor tiles, mold in tile grout, carpet needs replacing or deep clean, rips in sofa stitching and hole in bed base. Cleanliness is ok if assessed separately to maintenance issues. Heating is good. Beds may not be comfortable for some.

Convenient

So close to the top of Cuba Street. Convenient location. Could be cleaner...place is a bit shaby but if you are here to explore Wellington then you will be out all day and mainly use this as a base just to sleep.

Nice location, in need of refresh

We enjoyed our stay, the location was close walking distance to the shops and restaurants on Cuba St. The unit was a little tired and not terribly clean. The heat pump control did not work and the property managers said they would get to it after our stay ended. Fortunately there were electric heaters to keep the place warm. The place was ok, but lacked warmth (literally and figuratively). We would not stay here again.

Overall value for money but a little tired.

Value for money overall. Used tissues on the floor on arrival and kitchen and bathroom bins with rubbish in them. Unable to have guests for dinner which was a shame that it was assumed we would be partying. Our son's were in Wellington and it would have been nice to have been able to cook dinner for them.

Great mother’s-and-daughters trip!

James was a great host, it was very easy to communicate with him even months before our stay. The apartment was spacious and tidy, the beds and bedding were a let down but there were more than enough towels and cooking utensils. Just small improvements to make another guests stay ever better! Some breakfast cereals and milk would be a brilliant addition too. Location was close to all of the essentials, we walked along Cuba street to the waterfront daily. To finish off, the building and surrounding area was incredibly quiet so we all had great sleep over the whole weekend. Happy happy guests!

Great location, nice apartment

We had a great time staying here. We walked everywhere as it is so close to everything. The place is well set up and clean. It is in need of a bit of maintenance, mainly in the bathroom.

Not on Cuba Street

The property manager was good with his communication however he did not let us know that the dishwasher was not working. The dishes that were in there were also not cleaned. Very flexible with check out time and this was fantastic. Please note: this apartment is not on Cuba street and the title Cuba Apartment is miss leading. Nice and spacious though, but needs to fix downstairs toilet.

Good location, easy directions. The place did unfortunately smell of smoke, not the owners fault and cleaners had left doors open to clear apartment. Had a great nights sleep. Buy a small milk before you get there.

Great location and apartment but in need of some attention

This apartment is a great layout and design and a fabulous location. However its starting to look a bit tired...the downstairs toiletseat slides off and is so pokey it's almost impossible to get in and out. Main light in kitchen doesn't work, neither does extractor fan or light. Cutlery is a bit cheap and useless, the dining table is wobbly so it all just feels a bit flimsy. The WIFI and TV details on the check in info is incorrect and when we tried to contact the person via text for further instructions there was no response, nor was there a response to the email. However, up until and upon check in, the communication had been great. We still enjoyed our stay but probably wouldn't book it again.

Property was nice, however, a few minor points need attending to.

We were unable to get Freeview channels in spite of contacting the owners, which was most disappointing as at the rate we were paying one expected everything to be perfect! The noisy ventilation in the lower bedroom could only be switched off by tripping a circuit breaker on the main switchboard. The upstairs bedroom needs bedside reading lamps as the only lighting available was the main quad lights. If one partner wanted to read the other one got the spotlight right in the eye. The info sheet should tell you where to get the parking permits (at the dairy down the road). Good points were the location, beds were comfy, kitchen was spotless, very little road noise.

Needs maintenance and attention

We ended up checking out early - furniture and carpets were dingy and ants coming through walls and floors in bathroom. When we messaged the property managers, they didn’t seem to understand the issue. Really needs maintenance and a thorough cleaning.

Roomy…Needs a Refresh!

The street is fringe but close to Cuba Street and only a 15 minute walk to the center of town. Shabby for sure. Very musty, cracked tiles, stained carpets, thread bare towels, chipped paint, missing or blown out lightbulbs, a filthy toaster. Unusable outdoor space—dirty, birds nesting. It just seemed neglected. No guest instructions. Couldn’t turn on TV. Took 2 days for host to tell us where to put trash. Good water pressure and AC. Would not return.
