Explore Gisborne from this restored bungalow. This brilliant location is only a 5min walk to the Saturday Farmers Market, restaurants, cafe's and bars. It is only a 5 min drive or 10 min walk to Waikanae beach. This is a safe surf beach for the family with a full surf life saving club. Take surf lessons or just enjoy strolling along the boardwalk that runs along a large stretch of the beach. This central location provides an easy drive to vineyards, ecological tours, bush walks, fishing and beaches.A BBQ is available for guest use

What a gem!! Loved our stay at 'The Rivers' the location was awesome as was the house. It suited our needs and was clean and very modern. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Enjoyable spacious and clean home

Everything we needed and a beautiful location. Weather was lovely so was able to enjoy the sun and view of the river and surrounds from the deck. Will definitely stay here again if available next year around labour weekend sometime! Thank you

Beautiful house & great location. Shame the property is incorrectly listed as being wheelchair accessible. This was a requirement & upon arrival discovering steps, no handles or anything for basic accessibility caused much panic & anxiety. Please alter your listing! Cleanliness was also an issue -sticky floors was just the start. Such a shame because everything else ticked all the boxes.

Beautiful large home with central location

Our family of 4 including a 5 year & 15 month old really enjoyed our stay in Gizzy. This perfect home was the best location for us and we would love to stay there again if possible. Spacious, spotless, warm home with modern appliances & furnishings. Thank you for an enjoyable stay from start to finish. And thank you for the wonderful bottle of local wine!

Great property, ideally located

We loved our stay in this beautifully renovated Gisborne bungalow overlooking the river. It's close to town if you wanted to walk but is also well placed if you want to head north and check out the beaches between Gisborne and Tolaga Bay (well worth visiting). We had a problem with checking in (in that there seemed to have been a communication breakdown between the owner and the cleaner) but it was resolved in a reasonable amount of time and I would happily stay here again.

Perfect bach for a family

We have all loved our stay in this beautiful bach and will certainly look to book again for our next Gisborne stay. The house is spacious, very tidy and everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and stress free was there for us. The short walk to the centre of town and the waterfront restaurants, as well as the peaceful river outlook made this an extremely restful and stress free holiday for our family. Thank you to the hosts from us all.

Wonderful stay

A really lovely place to stay!

Wonderful communication with the owners, speedy and very clear instructions. A lovely, warm character home in a perfect location to walk to town with an interesting outlook to the river. It was just perfect for our family.

Highly recommended for so many reasons

The house is in wonderful condition, gorgeous high ceilings (which don't come across in the photos), and the beds are sooooo comfortable. My wife suffers from allergies and we were a little concerned about a wooden house, but the house is dust free and beautifully clean. We stayed for a couple of weeks, so also used the washing machine, dryer and vacuum cleaner, and as with the rest of the house, these are first class appliances. The location is an easy walk to the main road and shops, and a 30 minute stroll to the town beach. And to top it all off, John and Ann (landlords) and Anita (Gisborne contact) are exceptionally kind and very responsive. If you're looking for a three bed house in Gisborne, I can't see any reason why this isn't top of your list. You'll thoroughly enjoy your stay, we did.

Great place to stay.

The communication was excellent and if we had any issues we were able to call someone and get these rectified. The property was stunning; from the view upon arrival to the house and rooms itself. We were on time to catch the markets on Saturday and it was a brief walk across the bridge- 5-10 min walk. Just beautiful. Great place to stay and would happily again.

Beautiful home in excellent location

We had a really lovely time in this spacious, light filled home. It was much larger than we anticipated and we appreciated playing in the garden, sitting on the expansive deck and watching paddlers on the river, beautiful sunsets, and the walking distance to town/beach. It is a comfortable home, well appointed, and communication with the owner was excellent. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we hope to be back soon!

Perfectly positioned and well-appointed

Beautiful, spacious place. Great showers and beds. An easy walk to market, shops, museum, cafes, parks and beach. 6 of us stayed there together and it felt comfortable and relaxed. Well set up for self-catering with big, open kitchen and dining area. Flat lawn out back good for kid activities.
