About this property
Tremendous Value Venue For Large & Small Groups
Come and enjoy the unique, peaceful and natural environment here at Te Kauri. Just an hour from Hamilton the Reserve with its 500 year-old kauri, stunning Karst landscapes, wetlands and wild life is just a few steps away. Just down the road is Te Puia hot Ocean Beach.
Available all year round the Lodge can accommodates up to 90 from small clubs to large families/whanau groups or training providers in a mix of bunkrooms, 4 smaller rooms (sleeping a maximum of 6 each) and a 6-bed studio.
Hotwater showers and toilets in a separate but adjacent building.
Our commercially equipped kitchen also has a walk-in chiller, pantry and a freezer already to feed those in the adjoining dining room (seats 120). This can also double as a meeting room with is wall-mounted whiteboards and a pull-down screen. We also have a syndicate/breakout room (seats 25) with whiteboards (data projector available for hire).
Our comfortable, airy lounge (with upright piano!) sports a large fireplace - ideal for those cooler Winter evenings but when its warmer why not take in the unrestricted views of Mount Pirongia whilst enjoying breakfast on the 50m² deck. The gardens have a variety of picnic tables and a barbeque withs immediate access on foot into the Reserve.
For the more adventurous - or perhaps those who really want to get away from it - a 30-minute walk into the bush will find you in a clearing alongside the Waikuku stream at our lightweight camp (with dunny). Guests are welcome to use the campsite (bring your own camping equipment).
This really is a perfect destination for large groups - birthdays, anniversaries and family/whanau events. Also ideal for team-building, conferences, training and led retreats.
Events are especially welcome. However, commercial organisers are asked to make contact before entering into any booking arrangements. Any such booking made without prior approval is liable to summary cancellation.
Onsite parking for 25 (additional parking available). Bookings are not shared - groups have exclusive use of the whole lodge.
Special conditions:
Smoking allowed outdors and away from buildings.
Young children must be supervised on the deck.
Cleaning materials supplied (detergent, sprays, tea towels, mops, buckets, brooms}. Guests may use their own cleansers but NO bleach.
Guests must supply their own dishcloths.
Hand-sanitiser gels welcome but NO anti-bacterial handwashs.
Hangi pits available but must be approved by the Custodian and fire permit obtained where required.
Guests should make own arrangements for rubbish and recycling disposal and this must be agreed prior to departure.
Extras: Data Projector (Optional, NZ$20.00 per stay); Hangi pit (included); Rubbish Removal (Optional, NZ$0.00 per stay); Firewood - Boilers (Optional, NZ$24.00 per night); Firewood - Lounge (Optional, NZ$12.00 per night); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the property and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);
