Two bicycles enable guests to take either a short or longer ride along the bike trail that’s right outside the entrance before relaxing between freshly ironed Egyptian cotton sheets at the end of the day. There's an gorgeous outdoor fire to take the nip off spring and autumn evenings and we hope guests will pick in season from the abundant fruit trees and herbs around the garden. Crabtree Cottage is brilliantly situated to enjoy all Hawkes Bay is reknowned for. It's minutes from Elephant Hill and Clearview wineries and restaurants, a two minute stroll from the beach famous for surfcasting and right beside the popular bike trails around coastal Hawkes Bay and the Tukituki valley. So relaxing..easy walking distance to beach , handy to store and takeaways . HYGGE A MUST to visit. Back area is a bonus for a dog.Fab communication throughout with Phil. Five stars.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Crabtree Cottage. The location is amazing and means you can have your morning coffee while strolling along the beach. We loved going for a bike ride around the area and Havelock North is a short car ride away for breakfast, lunch or dinner options. The property itself came equipped with everything you need and was sufficiently warm on a pretty cold winters night. Would highly recommend!
We visited all three local vineyards, Elephant Hill (great wine tasting), Clearview (great lunch) and Te Awanga Estate - best to book ahead as they all got fully booked at lunchtime and people were turned away. Took the bikes for a spin up the coastal path but otherwise just chilled out in the back garden. Was lovely sitting in the covered area out the back, even when it was raining. Very convenient for nipping into Havelock North to stock up on supplies, but Te Awanga has a great seaside village feel. All in all a great stay.
We had a fabulous time relaxing as the weather was average so it forced us to take time to chill out. Phils communication prior to arriving at the cottage was excellent and it was nice to know he was only a phone call away if we had any issues! The cottage had everything we needed and super pleased we could take our two small doggos. We hope to visit again in future once our baby arrives!
Have stayed at Crabtree cottage previously and find it suits us and our dogs very well . Despite the appalling weather we were warm and cosy . Would love to saty again
The property is a little tired but everything one requires for a stay is provided. The cottage is situated on a relatively busy road before accessing the beach. Overall a perfect location for exploring vineyards and beaches in the vicinity. Thank Phil for your hospitality!
We had a great weekend in the cottage - so cozy and comfortable. Comfy bed, and all amenities of a good quality. Our dog also had a fun weekend, it's great that the backyard is enclosed so perfect for dogs. We'd definitely return.
This is the second time we have stayed at Crabtree Cottage and it is perfect for a couple just wanting to hide away. The owners were amazing at getting us an earlier check in, knowing that we had our wedding during the afternoon. Again, a wonderful place to stay in Te Awanga.
Fabulous cosy cottage, perfect for a week of relaxing. Wonderfully decorated and so comfortable. Also in a peaceful spot only a short drive from Havelock North and the beach and great flat cycle trails right on the doorstep. Communication with the owner was excellent. Thoroughly recommend this home.
We had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend this property. It was across the road from the beach and a short bike ride to the village. We truely relaxed and enjoyed the lovely cottage feel that was very homely. We will return Lisa & Tim
Had an absolutely fab time staying in this beautiful house, and top location. Everything there for you to enjoy a wonderful time. Bikes were super fun to ride down to the Clifton cafe, lots of laughs. The house is very well appointed with everything you need, and the property managers are 'on to it' in every way. Highly recommended to all other people seeking a hideaway in the kool village of Te Awanga. We will be back. Thanks so much Tina, Niki and Phil. Cheers, Grant and Marcus
Had a wonderful few days away with our Labradoodle pup Ziggy able to join us. Beautiful cottage, warm and homely. Loved the outdoor fire and enclosed back area and walking distance to beach and wineries. Great coffee at Brown Dog kiosk in village too, thank you
