Great location, amenities and fantastic hosts who leave baked goodies for you! Easy drive to Queenstown or water taxi..hiking from your front door, nice quiet location Comfortable bed, an all around 10/10
This property is a gem. It is certainly well kept and everything was spot on.The patio area was very classy and certainly private and relaxing. Highly recommended.Highly recommended.
On a 2 week journey around the South Island, this was probably my favorite stay. It was a solid 18 minute drive to the heart of Queenstown which I was slightly worried about, but honestly was not bad and actually was really lovely to be right on a beautiful private part of the lake with awesome trails just behind the property. The hosts were wonderful with great suggestions and so many personal touches like homemade bread, eggs, laundry availability, etc. felt very welcome. Highly recommend this property!
Warm and cozy with double glazing and auto heat control. Comfy bed up one flight of stairs in mezzanine. Although small, the layout is excellent with space for couch and chair and a small dining table that can extend out to sit 4. Well set up kitchen.Plenty of on street parking. Friendly hosts, would definitely stay again. wuiet str
What a wonderful stay. Right on the beach with privacy and outstanding views. The accomodation had everything and more. The bed was divine. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our stay- couldn’t have been nicer! And an added bonus was fabulous baked homemade bread upon our arrival- such a nice touch. Really pleasant hosts too.
Spruce Hus is the perfect place for an extended stay if you want a balance of scenery, outdoor activity and easy access to town without the hassle of getting caught in local rush hours. John and Anita were perfect hosts and provided thorough and accurate information re the property and local sights, activities and dining options.
Was a wonderful stay my wife and I were super impressed with the property and the Hosts. Thank you for the wonderful home made bread it was delicious.
Many thanks

Everything was lovely, quiet and private - a home away from home. Full kitchen facilities meant we were able to cook meals easily. Thanks for the fruit, cake and trail mix. Didn't need to do laundry, but terrific that washing and drying was available.
A great place to stay while in the Queenstown area.
John and Anita had some treats for us and came to welcome us upon our arrival. There property is a short drive into the beautiful little city of Queenstown. With much to do in the area, it was great to come back to a clean and tidy unit. Thanks for having us!
Spruce Hus was spotlessly clean, comfortable and we'll stocked with everything we needed for a 7 nights stay. Our hosts were extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming without being at all intrusive. Extensive very welcome breakfast supplies were provided. We enjoyed staying in this area, good for walks, the water taxi to town and just a few kilometers to the centre of Queenstown. We enjoyed the calmer suburban atmosphere in this location. A wonderful restful holiday, highly recommend Spruce Hus and thank you again to our lovely hosts.
Cozy space with a 20 minute drive from downtown Queenstown
We very much enjoyed our stay! The place was clean and included all of the basics plus a nice surprise of baked goods from the owners. There were enough dishes to cook up a meal for 2 people. We used the in unit clothes washer and dryer (the dryer was located in the garage which was about a 10 second walk from the front door).
The neighborhood was high-end with many modern houses and had some construction happening during the day. A 2 minute walk toward the back of the property led to the lake shore with beautiful views and a walking path that met up with the trail around Jack's Point Golf course.
The house is a 20 to 30 minute drive into Queenstown, depending on traffic, and about 10 minutes from the airport.
The Spruce Hus is so beautiful on the outside and the inside, very clean, and very well preserved. It is small yet we do not feel cramped or tight in anyway. Everything was designed and built to a high standard and well thought out for use and convenience. The seating area in front of the house is one of the many reasons that lured us to Spruce Hus and it just reinforced that we made the right decision when we did sit there for breakfast, it is just so refreshing. We also like the serene suburban location that makes us feel like home, unlike the busy and crowded city. Anita and John are also very nice with constant welcoming and helpful messages before our arrival. When we arrived around 9-ich in the evening, Anita came out of their house in the back to greet us and made sure we are in comfortably, very kind of her indeed. We would not hesitate to stay again and will keep the place in mind as a base for working from anywhere option. Anita and John, thanks for your beautiful house and your hospitality, we had a great stay ;-)
What a beautiful home to stay in, we had everything we needed even some beautiful homemade banana loaf and ginger marmalade for my morning toast.
Our hosts were so lovely and kind, cleaning up and refreshing the place half way through our stay.
We enjoyed most our time in this lovely location since it was so cold outside and so warm inside, all we wanted to do was snuggle up and watch tv with a home-cooked meal.
Mountain view is actually something else! Waking up in the morning with a cup of tea, looking at that view- WOOOOW!
Highly recommend!!!
It was one of the best accommodation we have stayed so far!!!
Very warm welcome, clear check in instruction!
The studio is well designed and eye for details in fittings!
Very clean, warm. Excellent location. Definitely will st say again and will recommend to friends
Gorgeous wee batch which was perfect for us. John & Anita were fantastic to deal with the whole time, lovely hosts. Absolutely enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone heading to Queenstown. Quick drive to the local shops and a 1 minute walk to the lake, it's in a perfect spot.
John, Anita & Molly where supremely welcoming and hospitable during my stay.
