About this property

Cedar Heights Chalet with Elevated Ocean Views in a Native bush setting.

Our boutique studio is the perfect space for 2-3 guests. It offers visitors breath-taking views of this stunning coastline and beyond. Set in a tranquil bush setting the studio is a comfortable space with a private kitchen, a contemporary dining space and separate (downstairs) bathroom facilities. There is a small balcony where visitors can enjoy hearing native birds such as the Morepork-Ruru , Tūī and Kererū singing in our private bush, some nights even our native Kiwi.
The comfortable beds come with fluffy pillows, bedding. We provide towels for our visitor's convenience.
We have Highspeed Fibre Internet - Wifi. 50" Smart TV with Freeview, Netflix, Connect your device via HDMI, USB-C or Chromecast so you can cosy up and watch movies on rainy days, or quiet ones. An overhead fan or heat pump to keep you cool or warm during NZ days and nights.

Ngunguru village (a fabulous holiday destination in a beautiful seaside community). Only a short walk to Whale Tail Park, the Estuary (which caters for boating, kayaking and swimming) and a short drive to the Tutukaka Marina (for restaurants, bars and boat ramp).

Many visitors come to Ngunguru to enjoy its natural unspoiled splendor and to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Just be aware this property is separate from main house and is 2 stories. Downstairs is the bathroom and upstairs is the loft studio above a garage (which isn't available to guests).

Sorry No Smoking outside. As this is a bush setting and the risk of fire is too severe.

    Pictures in the listening do not do justice to this property.. The views are incredible.We got there after dark so had to contact the host who very easily guided us. Very clean tidy and well kept property.guided usc c We'll certainly intend to go back.

    Light and bright with triple aspect seaviews

    I had a really relaxing time in this studio. Garden playgThe views are simply amazing, especially on the balcony. Kitchen is well equipped. Minor improvement maybe window, child lock, extractor fan and clothes rack. A car is necessary if steep hill walking is not for you. Overall, none of the minor points matters to us we love our stay, many thanks.

    A slice of paradise

    We have stayed before, and Cedar Heights Chalet continues to be our yearly go to place. Nestled in bush, high up in the hills, with views over Ngunguru, this place is just a delight to stay at. There is everything at the Chalet that you need. The place is tastefully decorated, clean, and with comfortable beds. The birdlife and surrounds are beautiful, along with being able to see the stars through windows and a skylight if one wishes to. The owners and communication is easy. Cedar Heights Chalet is a place where you can rest and rejuvenate, a little oasis and slice of paradise!

    PARADISE IN NGUNGURU

    From start to finish this place was a winner. The owner was excellent in answering my queries in the week leading up to our arrival. No detail was missed in terms of accessing the property. There was even a very thoughtful book put together by them outlining every detail of our stay. The accommodation was super cute, with everything being of great quality right down to the dinner set and cutlery provided. There was also nice touches like a nutribullet, coffee machine and travel cups should you wish to take a hot drink out with you.The views from the unit were also spectacular, meaning we will definitely be booking here again.

    A perfect stay

    I stayed three nights in order to join friends on 'A Perfect Day' boat cruise from Tutukaka. Cedar Heights Chalet was super comfortable, clean and well appointed. It was a great base from which to do exploring along the coast. Everything worked well, from the Fisher and Paykel dish drawer to the wifi which I needed to connect to work each day. The studio plus was roomy and super quiet as well. But the stand out feature was the utterly spectacular view which reached right across Ngunguru Bay and beyond. Many thanks!

    Compact and very well provisioned. Perfect for a couple on a short stay. Beautiful views are only achieved by a long steep drive, which would challenge some. We’d happily return.
