Relax at the edge of the sea in beautiful Kakanui. Overlooking Campbells Bay with sea views from every room, we offer a comfortable and cosy experience. With therapeutic sounds of the beach within walking distance, and historic Oamaru only 14kms away, you can enjoy a bit of both worlds.

A 1970s crib that has been extended over time, resulting in a quirky layout with three interconnected bedrooms that come off the lounge (no hallway), and is most suitable for families or close friends.

Please note: the house has old fittings and carpet so that animals can stay. Still very comfortable though :)

Stayed here for Christmas for 4 nights. It was the best holiday ever! The host Mel was so lovely great communication nothing a problem so friendly. Would definitely book a house of her again in the future. This house is awesome views are amazing.!! Will be back!

Loved the conservatory! Spent ages watching the ever changing ocean. A great spot to unwind, walk on the beach and around the small town of Kakanui. The house has all you need.

Delightful stay
This is a classic Kiwi bach with many of the original charms still intact. Appropriately priced, the house is very warm, clean and comfortable with fabulous sea views from every room. Would definitely stay again

Arrived to find a building site
Booked 12 months in advance as part of a present for my wife. I received check-in details two days before arrival. When we arrived, the house was surrounded by scaffolding, was missing windows, had warning signs for live wires, and had builders on-site doing extensive internal repairs. It was entirely uninhabitable and the builders had no knowledge of our booking. Host didn't answer multiple phone calls from me or bookabach customer support. Eventually got a refund, but with no other places available, we ended up having to sleep 4 people in our car.

This “quirky” residence lived up to that description. A real retro feel but for us and 2 dogs it all worked out very well. Needed to be tech savvy to use TV etc. location great especially in regard to the sea - lots of beach walks available

First of all don’t you have older people stay three girls all in our eighties. No sure about about chrome cast a lot of folk couldn’t work that what is wrong with turning on the tv and getting a signal. Couldn’t get the electric blanket to work in the double bed room still a hot water bottled worked fine. Had a lovely stay and spent a lot of dollars in oamaru

Great Views in tired extended holiday cottage
This cottage definitely needs refurbishing, shower controls faulty, conservatory roofing was flapping in the wind. Internal access has adjoining bedrooms. The ensuite bathroom needs a careful approach as steps down into it and overhead beam. However we enjoyed the views and our stay.

Amazing view!
We arrived in a very windy and stormy day. The view was spectacular and the road very quiet and a good feeling of privacy. The cottage was warm and clean although the carpet needs to be replaced. Generally - I saw the pictures and was reading the comments prior to arrival, so we knew where we are going and what I we’ve booked!

loved our stay but our we dog (marley) found getting up steps hard as has arthritis in his back legs otherwise things were good great area to stay in if you want to just relax. Nice if there were hand rail for us oldies on back steps. oh to be old
