A private retreat in the hills of Havelock North. With access to 4 acres of gardens, fruit trees, woods, and facilities including a pool and tennis court, visitors will always have something to do here.

The property has beautiful views of the Hawkes Bay, with glorious sunsets, and is close to the start of walking tracks and bike trails on Te Mata Peak. Wineries and other attractions are nearby - and wedding options are available.

The apartment is ideal for couples or families, with children well catered for in the 2nd bedroom. Our family live on-site in an adjacent dwelling, and are happy to assist at any time. The property has outdoor CCTV surveillance for your security.

Visitors are welcome to join in with the feeding of chickens, rabbits and fish, and are able to pick fruit on the many different types of trees on the property. Come and enjoy your stay in Havelock North!

The hosts we very welcoming. The kids had a ball as the property is rural (semi) so loads to do. Ian and Jo were super helpful with the kids (finding bikes and scooters for them and fresh farm eggs for breakfast). Lots of room - great location - close to Havelock, Te Mata Peak - gorgeous in the Autumn

Spacious comfortable and quiet
Large private home and garden on the outskirts of Havelock, the guest area is the original 1970s portion of the house and is starting to look a bit tired but, on the upside the rooms (and the hosts' provisions) are enormously generous. The gardens (with swimming pool and tennis court) are superb and the nearby walking track to Te Mata walking tracks are undergoing an upgrade.

Awesome place to stay! Ian & Joe are great people and the property is beautiful. The pool was fantastic especially on those 34 degree days!!! Monty the dog is always friendly and liked to pay visits which was handy as he was great at waking up teenagers from their slumber with a lick to the face! Ollie the cat was a typical cat... demanding attention only when it suited him! The accommodation is spacious with an AC unit in the lounge, again very helpful on those hot days. If you like to do a bit of MTB riding, then the house is just down the road from the Te Mata peak MTB park which has some great trails to explore and there are the walking tracks as well which were great for the morning run.

Thoroughly Enjoyable Stay
We only had one night in the Hawkes Bay area and booked our stay two days before arrival. The location of Ian’s guest house was in a beautiful part of Havelock North, just a one minute drive (or short walk) to the Te Mata Peak car park, where we started our hike to the summit. The gardens were absolutely stunning and the kids loved that there was a tennis court, which we had a play on. We didn’t use the pool but it looked very inviting and would be an added bonus if travelling there in the warmer months. The guest cottage was very comfortable and clean and the kids once again were excited that there was an X-Box there as they don’t have one at home. Ian was an extremely friendly and helpful host. It was such a beautiful, quiet and peaceful property. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
