In the Green by Portoro puts you right in the action. You will be close to UT, downtown, and Mueller all while getting to experience hip, East Austin. If you aren't heading to watch the big game in person, you can stream it through the huge smart projector. There is a grill and smoker out back and plenty of room in the kitchen fridge for your beverages, so you can make a whole day out of it!
The Space:
No matter what your reason for visiting Austin is, In the Green by Portoro is a great place to stay. Heading to a UT football game? In the Green is only 3 miles from the stadium. Here for a concert? Moody Center and Moody Amphitheater are both about 3 miles away. Checking out the Downtown Austin scene? It's a short 3.2 miles away. Maybe you want to do something a little more active on your visit? Austin Bouldering Project, Urban Axes, and the East Boggy Creek Greenbelt are all within 2 miles of In the Green, too.
Even if you'd rather just stay in, you will have a great time at In the Green. This charming bungalow has an open concept floorplan with a state of the art kitchen and a living area with plenty of plush seating. Not to mention the giant smart projector! It's a perfect setting to watch a game or snuggle up to a good movie. If you're in the mood for more than just popcorn when you watch, you have your choice of cooking something in the kitchen or grilling out back.
When it's time to catch up on your sleep, you have two bedrooms each equipped with a queen bed and inviting pillows. There's a desk in one of the bedrooms should you need to do a bit of work while visiting. There are also two full bathrooms and one half bath for your privacy and convenience. One bathroom has a tub/shower combination while the other has a walk-shower.
While In the Green has everything to keep you comfortable and entertained, we know you really came for Austin, so here are some recommendations to help you explore the city:
Restaurants:
- The Front Page: A neighborhood-friendly pub featuring New York-style sandwiches, made with bread that’s baked in-house, cocktails, 16 beer taps, and a lengthy wine list.
- Justine's: Steaks & snails plus wine & cocktails in a little bungalow with a light-strung patio.
- BBQ: If you're in the mood for barbecue, you're in the right neighborhood. You can't go wrong with Franklin Barbecue, La Barbecue, Rollin' Smoke BBQ, or Mickelthwaite Barbecue, which are all within 2.5 miles of In the Green.
Bars:
- The Lost Well: Rock-&-roll bar offering draft beer & a lineup of local bands & musicians in an upbeat setting.
- Lustre Pearl: Drinks & snacks in an old converted home with a jukebox & huge backyard with picnic tables & games.
- Kitty Cohen's: Retro bar offering specialty drinks & punches, plus a spacious yard with shaded poolside seating.
Guest Access:
We offer convenient keyless door codes for self-check-in. Portoro Homes uses smart locks with check-in details provided 48 hours prior to arrival by email and text message.
• Early check-ins or late check-outs: If the property happens to be ready earlier than the standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, in most cases an early arrival option may be available when confirmed with the main office. Late check-outs must be confirmed with main office staff prior to the date of departure.
The Neighborhood:
The east side of Austin, with its industrial-chic brewpubs, craft cocktail lounges and live-music rooms, picks up the pace after dark. Art galleries, vintage boutiques, bike shops and coffee houses mix with Mexican restaurants and BBQ joints. The Tejano Walking Trail honors the neighborhood’s music pioneers, while the Mexican-American Cultural Center stands nearby in the Rainey Street Historic District.
Getting Around:
Austin offers plenty of transportation options. Ridesharing, micro-mobility, and mass transit are available everywhere.
The airport is just 15 minutes away.
Other Things to Note:
Please pay close attention to following the house rules. Non compliance could result in sizable fines.
- All guests staying at one of our Portoro Homes are required to sign (esignature) a rental agreement and complete identity registration.
- Age restrictions apply. Reservation holder must be 25 years of age.
- All guests must be included on the guest list and not exceed the maximum number stated on the listing.
- Upon arrival, we aim to ensure your safety, proper access to the home, and guest features. ALL guests are required to read the house manual upon arrival. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Portoro.
- Known damages incurred during your stay must be reported to the property manager immediately.
- Before check in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival.
- Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
- We cannot guarantee early check ins or late checkouts. When it is possible to check in early or check out late, there will be a fee for anything outside of a one hour window within our standard times. If your need for an early check in or late check out is great, your best option is to book an additional night.
- Some homes have cameras for external monitoring only.
- Some homes offer pools/hot tubs. There is no guard around the water features when available. Use at your own risk.
- Stays over 29 days – please inquire separately for terms and conditions.
- HOTEL TAX COLLECTION: Both the City of Austin and the State of Texas requires all hotel and vacation rental hosts to collect hotel tax. We collect these two taxes within the booking transaction. The state requires 6% and the city requires 11%.
- YOU ARE HELPING: A portion of the city hotel tax helps support Austin's musicians and related businesses.
- This is a No Pets property. A daily rate fee of $150.00 will apply for violations and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host.
- This is a No Smoking property. Penalty fees for violations will apply and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host.
Interaction with Guests:
Portoro Homes communicates via email and phone. After a booking is confirmed, rental agreement will be emailed to the guest for e-signature. Check-in instructions are sent by email and text message 48 hours prior to arrival date (keyless entry). We offer convenient keyless entry for self-check with no need to stop in at a local office. We do typically check in with guests by email/text 1-2 times during their stays to ensure a 5-star experience and remain available for any questions/inquiries. We are available to guests 24/7.
We follow the CDC and Airbnb Recommended Cleaning Guidelines. You can rest assured this property has been completely sanitized prior to check-in.
