About this property

Black Miller Wool Shed | Waterfront | Paradise | Tub+Sauna, Black Miller Wool Shed | Waterfront | Pa

True paradise on the waterfront, surrounded by forest lies the WOOL SHED at Black Miller.

Be it a romantic get away or an action packed adventure, the wool shed is an amazing base. This is a real experience not just a night away so take the chance and book paradise.

The wool shed is all open plan living with a king bed and 2 small single bunk beds in the one open plan area. Cosy internal fire place with comfy chairs and a handy dining suite. Functional kitchen with basic utilities, gas hob, fridge/freezer, separate toilet, bathroom, outdoor dining and expansive outdoor lawns/grounds.

The wool shed itself is over 80 years old and was converted into accommodation in the early 2000's. Its important you note this as this older more rustic style of accommodation may not be for you.

Dive for crayfish on your doorstep followed by a soak in the hot tub. Enjoy onsite games including badminton, kubb, croquet or head out on the water with the SUP boards (2 available).

Wonder the grounds and visit our 30m waterfall or use the bespoke sauna and follow this up with a cold plunge into the black miller stream.
Enjoy a swim (altho fresh :D) in the 16m lap pool.

We have so much to offer you at this property so we suggest you check in at 3pm to make the most of your time with us.

You are in close proximity to some great locations:
kaikoura town ship - 25 minutes
Middle hill mountain bike park - 10 minutes
Ohau seal colony - 5 minutes
Paradise - wherever you stand

We are very close to State Highway 1, there is traffic nose associated with this location e.g. trains and trucks.

Enjoy access to the entire property of 32Ha (100) and beyond into the conservation park.

We will be available by phone and in person if we are at the additional dwelling on site.

This is character laden wool shed, not a refined piece of architecture. This dwelling is very old and was an original wool shed before being converted into accommodation. Because of its age things are worn/weathered and dusty.

There are lots of little quicks that make this accommodation unique. If you are looking for a polished experience, or a brand new house there are other more suitable options in town.

PLEASE NOTE:
The wool shed is your space, however there is another dwelling occupied by your hosts on the property that shares the use of the property amenities eg spa/pool/sauna (you can have time to yourselves in these).

The property is also alongside a main road and rail line. You will hear the vehicles and trains using this.

Generator - the property is off grid, in addition to our solar system a generator is also used. This is located away from the woodshed but a light humm can be heard at times.

We are located in the a rural area surrounded by bush so we do get insects and bugs. We do provide bug spray for guest use.

Paradise in Waipapa Bay!
Truly a special place, you won’t see Kaikōura the way you see it until you stay in this place. We had the most bliss long weekend, the place resonates why we love being full of character, rustic but class! It’s beyond. And our host goes above and beyond, even taught us how to catch cray fish by craypots! You know when they say “best of both worlds” this is it! Bush, mountain, sea, river! It’s in your doorstep! Can’t wait to come back! xx
