Nau mai, haere mai!
Our spacious yurt offers a serene escape just steps away from a quiet stretch of beach with golden sands and the gentle sound of ocean waves, nestled between Collingwood and Milnthorpe in Golden Bay.
Enjoy your morning coffee in your own outside space with ocean views. Explore the nearby pristine beaches (including Wharariki and Farewell Spit), embark on some water sports, feast on a sunset BBQ, indulge in a starlit bath or take scenic walks along a multitude of trails. We have plenty of local knowledge we can share with you if required, including fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking and local attractions.
The space offers private beach access, outside dining area with BBQ and fire pit, outdoor bath & shower, and modern decor and amenities, ensuring you feel right at home while surrounded by nature.
The kitchen facilities include electric double hot plate, toaster, kettle and fridge with small freezer section. Breakfast basics are included with locally roasted coffee, tea, cereal, bread, spreads and milk.
There is a bathroom unit a few metres from the yurt, including an indoor shower, toilet and washing machine. Please note, this is a shared unit.
We also have kayaks and a paddle board that you are welcome to use at no extra cost.
The yurt is a peaceful spot tailored for both relaxation and adventure, whether you're seeking a romantic getaway or a personal retreat.
Slow down and unwind in this unique place.
Special conditions:

4-night minimum during Christmas and New Year holiday period
2-night minimum all other times
Maximum 2 guests, each additional guest per night is $30 (we have a sofa bed and single floor mattress if required. Please inform us so we can provide extra linen if needed).
Other things to note:
Due to resting and nesting birds at our beach entrance (particularly pied and variable tōrea - oystercatchers), we can unfortunately not accept dogs. Please take care when heading onto the beach so as not to disturb them or any young chicks.
The property runs on filtered rain water.
There is no Wifi in the yurt but we do have good phone signal so it is possible to hotspot your phone.
We are a quiet but active homestead so there may be the occasional noise of a passing tractor or car.
