Nestled on the beautiful MacDonald River, Thompson’s Cottage is the perfect place for those seeking a tranquil escape or an active family away from devices.
Surrounded by World Heritage listed national park and the MacDonald River, enjoy wildlife and nature at its best. A mixture of open space, native bush and national park on your doorstep.
The two acres block with a traditional farm cottage is an ideal holiday away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney but within a relatively short drive.
The space
Thompson's Cottage is a charming heritage farm cottage fully furnished with two bedrooms, kitchen, lounge, balcony and bathroom.
Features include:
- Two bedrooms one with a queen size bed and the second with two single beds both with outdoor access
- Wood-fuel pot belly fireplace for winter heating
- BBQ and outdoor fire pit (subject to local fire restrictions)
- Main bedroom with adjoining bathroom
- Well equipped kitchen
- Outdoor table and chairs on balcony which is bathed in the northern sun and overlooks the river and the valley
- Ceiling fans in each room and split system air conditioning in living area
- Cottage is fenced and has an adjoining 2 acre paddock
- Pet friendly
- Borders World Heritage listed National Park, natural bush and the river which is wonderful for walking and wildlife
- Nestled on the beautiful MacDonald River
- Ample parking
- Access to the property is via a good river crossing however a 4WD vehicle is required alternatively leave car on roadside and it is short 100m walk to the house.
- Property is on the power grid so has electricity
- The house is on tank water and so we ask that you conserve water
- Remember the country golden rule - leave all gates as you find them as there are cattle in and around the property
- Note: Please note there is no telephone, no internet access, no TV and no mobile phone coverage in the MacDonald Valley. One of the many attributes to the area as it provides the rare opportunity to truly escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney and the ability to relax and recharge.

A few things to note - there isn't mobile coverage in the area and you will need a 4WD to cross the river or alternatively many guests leave car on other side and it is a short 100m walk across the shallow sandy river to the house.
