About this property
Cozy Tiny Home - Farm Stay - Near Qualicum Beach
The Tiny Home is located on our small but active farm near Spider Lake, BC – you'll drive up our long driveway, past the tree-covered campsites and find your quaint forested home away-from-home. There is plenty of easily accessed parking in front of the tiny home.
Despite the home’s tiny footprint, the vaulted ceilings make the living area feel quite spacious. The living space includes a comfortable sectional pull-out. Cozy up on the couch with a good book or a board game and enjoy this unique stay experience. There is a small tv with ChromeCast access so you are able to cast from your phone, tablet or computer any of your streaming sites. **NEW JUNE 2024** We have installed an awning that extends the length of the Tiny Home providing a covered area to dine and relax outside.
The kitchen features a full sized fridge, microwave, gas stove and oven, electric tea kettle, French press, and all the cooking ware you'll need to create your delicious meals . We provide coffee, tea, as well as oat milk and sugar. We also supply general condiments for cooking – such as spices and olive oil.
The generous sized bathroom comes equipped with all amenities including towels, shampoo and conditioner, body wash & lotion. If you forget anything, let us know.
The sleeping loft is accessible by a small staircase , from the living room. This space has a queen size mattress and comes with lots of light from pot-lights and side lamps. The second sleeping loft is accessible by ladder only and is furnished with a double sized bed.
The front deck is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup and the large picnic table is a great location for a meal on a warm night.
There is a path behind the home that guides you to our auxiliary buildings that come equipped with additional hot/cold showers, toilets and laundry facilities.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire site that the Tiny Home is located on as well as any walking trails or paths around the property. Feel free to roam around the property; anywhere that is staff/host only is clearly marked. We do have additional full time residents and seasonal guests on the property so we ask that you are mindful of their privacy when walking the grounds.
Guests do not have access to the shed across from the Tiny Home.
Interaction With Guests:
My husband, Taylor and I live in a separate house on the property and are around most days and evenings to answer any questions or give suggestions on where to go, what to do or where to eat. We live and work on the property so you will see us around throughout your stay.
You will also see (and hear) our two dogs, Remy and Doug. They like to say hi. Doug is a guardian and lets us know once you have arrived. Our ducks and geese love snacks so if you have any lettuce or peas left over from dinner, you'll become fast friends.
Other Details:
Please note that we live and work on the property. You'll see us moving about the property throughout your stay and we are always there to answer any questions you may have. This is a farm and agritourism location so there are days where there is quite a bit of activity happening throughout the day including seeing and running into other guests, and on occasion, the running of tractors and other large equipment; however, we aren't super early risers here so don't worry, your mornings are safe with us.
Additionally, with easy access to the inland Island Highway comes with it the potential for traffic noise. Evenings and weekends are much more quiet but its the price we pay for easy access to the main island route to get you quickly from lake to lake, beach to beach.
Our farm is in a rural setting so please expect some rural excitement! From time to time you may see bears, deer, mice, rabbits, eagles, ravens, vultures and on a rare occasion a cougar. When traveling to Vancouver Island with plans to venture out onto the trails or to rural areas it's important to learn how to behave in animal encounters. While we would love to keep only the fun four legged friends, the pesky ones will pop up now and then but that is rural living!
The Tiny Home at Flower Beds Farm is located on property zoned as farm land and falls outside of the new BC Government Short Term Vacation Rental restrictions in which tiny homes are also exempt; we remain open and welcoming guests to our agritourism home-away-from-home.

About the host
Hosted by Jess & Taylor

Jess and Taylor are the soul of Flower Beds Farm—they're also warmer than cornbread and more "resourceful" than the Encyclopedia Brittanica Collection. If you have the chance to meet them, you’ll see that their love for the farm and the land runs deep. Flower Beds Farm is their life’s work, and also their home. They live, work and play on the sprawling 18 acres of rich farmland — (located on the unceded traditional territory of the Liǧʷiłdax̌ʷ, Coast Salish, K’ómoks, and We Wai Kai First Nations)
—with their fur and feather babies: Murph, Penny, Remy, and the ducks.
Hi, I'm Jess!
Resident flower nerd and grower with a wealth of experience in event & travel management, creative direction, entrepreneurship, and more. Ask me about farming, flowers, frogs, fungi, aromatherapy, or any of my skills and passions
Meet Taylor!
Taylor has been a driving force in many small and large-scale businesses, in leadership and consulting capacities. With a formal education in business and a hands-on education in physics and chemistry, Taylor is a bit of a mad scientist—his enthusiasm for projects at the microscopic levels is always evident. He combines cutting-edge technology with tried and true methods in his fields of interest—specializing in spirit and cider production, and other organic fields. That passion also spills over (no pun intended!) into the carbon cycle, beverage, and whatever else catches his attention).
