About this property

The Rangers House on the Edge of a Forest

Escape from the noise and bustle of life to a cosy house on the edge of the Mt Thomas Forest Reserve. Spend your days exploring the forest via numerous, well maintained tracks through the bush or swimming at nearby Ashley Gorge. Experience space (this is a large property) and expansive views in every direction! Snuggle up on the large sofas with a book (there is a bookcase loaded with books in the house) or light the fire and enjoy the warmth. Open the french doors that lead to an outdoor patio with a table and BBQ available. If you are looking for an outing, take a drive to Oxford for lunch or the market on the weekend. Relax and enjoy being part of nature.
This property is newly renovated and has all the modern appliances you would need alongside space and freedom to unwind in a quiet and restful space. The bedrooms all have brand new, comfortable beds and built in wardrobes.
This property is ideal for anyone, singles, couple, families or groups who are looking for space and quiet in a rural setting. If you like the outdoors, there is the Wharfdale Track for mountain biking nearby and plenty of inspiration for painting or photography. Bird watch or sit in the sunshine - this is a place for both rest and recreation.
Pop to the nearby town of Oxford for lunch via a scenic drive. If you need a pizza, want to go the movies, get sushi or a magazine, then Rangiora is a short drive away.

The views and rural setting and outdoor space offer a chance for guest do all the things from their childhoods, outdoor cricket, bingo with the tennis racket, spotlight after dark and have a BBQ.

Enjoy birdsong in the morning against a mountain backdrop. Escape the world for a while!

I have been a host since 2020 and I love the messages I receive from guests about their stay. I know how important a comfortable, well equipped break can be and I aim for my guests to have a wonderful experience. This property is my own escape when I want to recharge and connect with nature, take a walk in the forest and connect with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

I like being close to the great outdoors and this area offers excellent walking and tramping as well as mountain biking - both activities I enjoy. It is so safe for kids and all three of mine have enjoyed countless hours outside roaming and playing.

What makes this property unique

This property offers a modern, newly renovated space with plenty of room and two bathrooms for larger groups. A really large lounge connected to the dining area and kitchen allows for everyone to be together with room to move!
The views and rural setting and outdoor space offer a chance for guest do all the things from their childhoods, outdoor cricket, bingo with the tennis racket, spotlight after dark and have a BBQ.
